By Sherry Everett When I saw this set of 4 low carb books for every meal and snacks too, I simply had to buy it. The set is wonderful. There are so many choices that it's hard to pick one favorite recipe of all that I've tried so far, but I guess it would be the Sugar Free Moo Shu Chicken. This author includes delicious appetizers, hearty breakfasts that provide a lot of energy, nourishing sides and a huge variety of dinners in their own sections: chicken-based, beef-based, fish-based, pork-based and vegetarian-based.I also love her smoothies and her slow cooker recipes are great too. Linda covers everything from A to Z. I highly recommend this 4-book set of Low Carb Living recipes.This book is just awesome! I highly recommend this!

Becoming a NutriBullet ninja By excellentwheels I downloaded this book because I have several friends that have become obsessed with their NutriBullet so much so that I have taken to referring to them as “NutriBullet-ninjas” and they are always telling me how healthy making your own juice smoothies is for the body. Whether you are working out trying to have a balanced diet on the go or trying to lose weight so I thought I would do a little research and see if I can find a recipe book that would give me an idea for a smoothie or juice plan to drink that they had not tried before, so I could show off my NutriBullet-ninja skills. The next time we got together for a brunch or a game of basketball or a hike. Anything that would need a nutritious juice drink or smoothie to accompany us. Sure enough, this book delivered exactly that is chocked full of delicious and nutritious smoothie and juice recipes that are good for everything from weight loss to breakfast or replenishing the vitamins and minerals lost during a workout or strenuous activity such as hiking or basketball.My personal favorite recipe so far, happens to be a tie between the green tea and veggie smoothie and pineapple avocado and watercress smoothie simply because I did not think that these particular ingredients in combination (into distinct drink recipes. Of course) could be as delicious as they are. So if you are looking for some healthy yet delicious smoothie and juice recipes, then I suggest you give this book a try. You will not be disappointed. Your body and the NeutriBullet-ninjas in your life will thank you so will your taste buds. This book is written in plain, easy to understand language that does not require a culinary degree to decipher and for the price point. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The reason for only 3 stars is the fact that the recipes are just scattered all over the book. They sound very good, but you will see Heart Healthy next to Detox or such. It would rate 5 stars if the recipes were in the category that they help, instead just willy nilly all over the book, this makes it very hard to follow a plan that you want to follow.

I'm definitely a Nutribullet fan and this book is a must have for those who value time and nutrition. Bottom line is hard to come up with several "Tasty" recipes ideas on your own with the Nutribullet. You can't beat the cost of the book either.Personally and currently I'm into the weight loss recipes and one of my favorites is the Nutribullets's Waistline Reducer Smoothie using the Chia seeds. This recipe's book seems to contain so many tasty recipes using just a few low cost ingredients that I've never think before. I’d definitely recommend having a book like this in the kitchen or in the cellphone.Dennis Ruiz

That was a great starters bonus. I love spices and use some type of spice in every dish I prepare, as does my girlfriend. I usually improvise with Nixon spices, which doesn't bother me soo much, but my guests tongues tend to be a little more sensitive. I'm interested in this book to make my dishes more enticing for others. The author also provides tip for storing spices and using dry herbs and what to do. This is more than typical recipe books I've got for the sake price. A nice bargain. Definitely worth the price. It also has spices from all around the world, so I believe it can suit most tastebuds. Stoked to give some of them a go

Unlike so many such books on offer, this short read goes into a lot more detail about the origin and uses of spices and herbs in cooking, dating as far back as Ancient Egypt.The recipes for spice and herb mixes are clearly written, with great tips and advice for storage, and better ways to improve the quality of the mixes you prepare. The instructions are easy to follow and well formatted. There is also a wide variety of recipes to suit all tastes from sweet to savoury, to the more exotic, such as Panch Phoron, which is really just a very aromatic Asian spice blend.Being a UK resident, some of the more unusual spices mentioned, such as ‘epazote seeds’ and ‘chincho’ are not readily for sale in this country. It may be useful for Oliver V Ramsey to perhaps give an alternative to some of these spices so that people from other countries may be able to try out all of the recipes.That said, I loved the recipes in this book, and although I am a well seasoned – pardon the pun - user of spices and herbs in my cooking, I discovered new and interesting spice and herb blends that I have not come across before. I will definitely be using this book for many years to come in my kitchenI would highly recommend this wonderful little gem of a book to anyone who enjoys adding flavour and interest to their cooking.

About the Author Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I'd begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: To be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it's a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With two published books and counting, it's been amazing to have made this dream my reality. I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I'm a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you'll find throughout my books.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. another great book in a great series! By Christina Wade I am going to ATTEMPT to write this review without spoilers, but no promises. There are so many quotes I want to include in this review, but just trust me when I say you need to read this book (and the whole series if you haven’t yet).This story has been a long time coming…it seems like forever we’ve been waiting to ‘hear’ what Chris has to say. We’ve been teased with it in Tricking Chase and Their Reason. These 4 men have had me intrigued since we met them; they’ve been surrounded by sexual tension, passion and confusion from the beginning. Even in For a Reason – my favorite book of the series featuring my favorite 2 characters – I found myself asking ‘what the heck is going in with these 4 men?’…I need to know their stories. And so finally, here they are…mostly. (For those of you unfamiliar with Ms. G’s work, she’s a bit of a tease…always leaving you salivating with some questions to be answered later.)So I guess I’ll start with Owen. I’m not going to lie…I didn’t like him in For a Reason – at all. He was a bit of a jerk and I knew there had to be a reason but I didn’t care then because he just made me so mad. We finally find out why he’s been somewhat resentful toward Bull and why he acted as he did. Chapter 6…that’s when he won me over…I don’t remember much about him in this book before that (I’ll have to re-read this story a few times to have it completely memorized) but in Chapter 6 he had me. (and truthfully, that cover picture of him didn’t hurt.) At times he seems weak, but through Chris’ eyes we see that he’s actually really strong when someone believes in him.Oh Chris…I can’t swoon too much over him or my friend Wendy will get mad (she claims he belongs to her and we let her because she found the perfect picture of him). I KNEW when he opened his mouth we’d want to listen…and I was right. Wow…he’s a pretty perfect alpha male among these men. He had a crap hand dealt to him and it basically broke him which is what caused him to shut down. He’s carrying around guilt that he really didn’t need to be carrying. He has a great relationship with his brother, Liam. He brings out the best in those around him. He is vulnerable in his strength. He is the perfect man for Owen. (Chris and Owen leapfrogged over Ty and Chase to be my new 2nd favorite couple in this series. Bull and Ian are my favorite.)Liam seems to be the life of this party. He’s a bit silly and a bit funny, especially when he’s around Billy because Billy makes him so happy. There are a couple of times that you absolutely laugh out loud at him. I love how he loves Billy. Billy has been so unloved for so long that Liam really has to show him how great he is and the best way to do that is to just love him…so he does. He is a great brother to Chris, even though they still carry a bit of tension from the past that they work through in the story. He reminds me a little of a playful Javi and Ian…he too seems a bit lost but is on his way to figuring out what he wants in his life.And that leaves Billy Bear. He was a bit of a hellion as a young man and he paid for it, not only through the penal system but with his family as well. It is amazing to me how such a big strong man can lack self-confidence and be so vulnerable. It is through Liam (and Trick) that he starts to gain confidence. He is so truly sweet with Liam; you really just want to hug him. While Billy went through some growing pains in this book, he still has some work to do with his family.The dynamic between Billy and Owen and Chris and Liam is made clear in this book if you didn’t already understand it going in. These men will always be in each other’s lives and we had to have all of them in this story to get the full picture of each of their lives and futures.Overall, this is another must read from Jessie and one that I will read again and again (as with the other books in this series).

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Spectacular By Anera I loved this next installment of the series and continue to look forward to the future stories. This one was funny and really drove home the idea that family is created, sometimes by blood and sometimes by blood. It's nice to see the freaky foursome figure out that their energy is just a manifestation of their love. Jessie g left in plenty of teases for new books. New characters and some teasing that established couples still have issues to work on to get beyond their HEA to their full potential as partners.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I LOVE this series! By Jodi Aherns I LOVE this series. I stopped reading another book when this downloaded. Yes I pre-ordered and why would you not? Chris and Owen. Billy and Liam. 2 Couples. A family not of blood but of love, friendship, tragedy, pain and all needing what each other has. Dang it but I love these boys. I loved getting little glimpses of the other 'family' members. It was perfect. And seriously I laughed out loud at the scene with Ava and Luc and the 'dick dance'. I need more of these boys. More please!

Inspiring ecumenical and inter-faith collaboration for the common good By Darren Cronshaw The common good is a phrase of Catholic Social Teaching but of interest to people of all denominations and religions, and none. Together for the Common Good brings together thirteen thinkers and activists – mostly Christian but also Jewish, Muslim and non-religious – to discuss the common good from a variety of perspectives.By way of background, the book was inspired in particular by two initiatives: firstly, the exemplary collaborative leadership of David Sheppard and Derek Worlock, the Anglican Bishop and Catholic Archbishop in Liverpool in the 1980s and their advocacy for the poor and the common good; and secondly, the UK’s Together for the Common Good project (T4CG).Two chapters of Part 1 explore the language and imagination of the common good. Anna Rowlands underlines the imperative of collaborating together for the common good in a world of economic crisis, global conflict and ecological disasters. It is tested, furthermore, in a nation’s treatment of migrants and asylum seekers. Andrew Bradstock explains that essentially the language of common good helps move us beyond individual success and remind us of dignity of the human person and our interdependence as a community. It helped me understand the term and how it is being harnessed in UK religious and political contexts. John Paul II suggested politics, in Aristotelian tradition, is “a prudent concern for the common good” (cited p.182). In a society with growing inequality – including Western countries such as the UK or Australia, we need reminding that wealth is ideally common wealth.The highest value of the book, however, is showing some of the products and pointing to further potential for change when cross-sector, national conversations are undertaken about what matters and what is needed to create “the sum total of social conditions which allow people, either as groups or as individuals, to reach their fulfilment more fully and more easily” (p187, citing Vatican II’s definition of the common good in Gaudium et spes). By Carrie Renteria Lily Knight and Ellie Danes are an incredibly dynamic duo, allowing them to create such magnificent stories for readers to get lost in.Hunt's Desire Vol. 1 is an incredible story about a Billionaire Playboy who has your typical lifestyle. Drinking, partying, women you name it and Caleb Hunt pretty much does it. Caleb's character is written in such a way to where unlike most of the Billionaire playboy's we read about now he has no desire to do anything, and no problems telling you so. So our story sounds fairly predictable so far right? Not so much. The storyline changes and quite a bit of intrigue is added. Enter a sick father, who our playboy has been estranged from for years. A mother who died mysteriously. A really hot girl he can't seem to resist. And mystery love notes we can't seem to find out who wrote.This story is one that is full of emotions and will tug at your heart strings from the moment you start reading it.Don't miss your chance to read this amazing series!

He is so arrogant and cocky though and has been so self centered to have lost touch with his father. Coming back home has given Caleb a moment to question so many things about what's happened. Will Skye be able to break his walls down and uncover the secrets he holds?? AGHHHHHHHH and what's with Rosie and Gordon's secrets and the note?!! OMG I can't wait for book #2.

I love the characters, Caleb and Skye, along with the chemistry between them. I can't wait for book 2 because the first one leaves you with so many questions: who left the note in the gazebo, is Caleb's Dad dying, what is the relationship between Rose and her boss, will Caleb finally get a job! I love the mystery surrounding this series!

The themeof this book is very relevant for today and will surely hit homefor those who read it and take it to heart! Prophetic Fiction By Greg Brown When Jesus was interrogated by Pontius Pilate, he responded, “I came to bear witness to the truth,” and Pontius replied, “What is truth?” (John 18:37-38). That question is as relevant now as it was then. What is truth? Many would say, “Truth is what you believe. It is relative. What you believe is true to you and what I believe is true to me.” Essentially, the common logic of today would have us do away with absolute truths and morality all together.In Roger Deloach’s book Truth, he argues against this logic but not in a didactic way. He argues against it through a story. Like Christ, he presents a parable that challenges readers to consider and reexamine truth. It says to the hearts of readers, “Do you believe the Truth?”I would call this style of writing “Prophetic Fiction.” It prophetically speaks to believers and non-believers alike. The story is dramatic. It begins with an old man who fell away from the faith as a young boy. Later in life, he has a near-death experience where God miraculously protects him and speaks to him. From that point on, this man comes to know who God is in Christ and through Scripture. The story details the exciting ups and downs of his maturing faith, as he learns to give God everything. Then the story transitions to events leading up to the fall of a megachurch pastor and then adeptly brings the two stories together.Here are some things I really enjoyed: I appreciated how different parts of the story or past events in people’s lives intersected. One could call it fate, but I believe it was the author’s intent to show God’s sovereignty over the details of life and how he works all things for the good of believers and to draw unbelievers to himself. I found these divine appointments and details refreshing, especially as they reminded me of how God’s sovereign hand guides the events of my life.I also marveled at how the author continually intertwined Scripture and doctrine throughout the narrative. It reminded me of the gospel of Matthew. Not only does Matthew share the narrative of Christ but also entire sermons and instructional dialogues with the intention of teaching and challenging the hearers. Throughout, he trumpets, “Christ is the Messiah!” As Matthew focuses more on Christ’s teachings than other gospels, Roger Deloach shares more biblical truth than most Christian fiction authors. At times his story whispers and other times it shouts, “This is Truth!”And finally, as mentioned, the prophetic nature of the book was very unique. It speaks about contemporary issues calling the listener to respond. Here is an example of a sermon by a local pastor that speaks prophetically on key issues like abortion, homosexuality, evolution, and pluralism:“‘Young girls like Amanda are being bombarded with lies daily. They are told that this life inside of them is not a baby, but a piece of tissue that is easily removed. They are rarely told the truth about what happens in an abortion; how the baby is cut or sucked to pieces, or how it is burned to death with saline solution. They are told it is a simple medical procedure. They are never told that the baby writhes in pain as its limbs are being ripped or cut away.‘Within so many churches the immorality of premarital sex is not challenged, we allow those who are living together to teach Sunday school. The immorality of homosexuality is not a topic of discussion any more; the discussion now centers on what those who practice this sin will be allowed to do in the body of Christ. Evolution, a theory of how everything came into being without the Creator and the need for the Redeemer, is accepted in whole or in part by most people claiming to be Christians. The idea that one god encompasses all religions is prevalent, proclaiming many ways to eternal life. These are just a few examples of compromising the word of God.”Roger Deloach’s fictional story Truth prophetically shares God’s message with a generation that desperately needs to hear it. Most Christian fiction doesn’t pack a punch like this! It is not only meant to entertain but change lives, and I believe it will achieve both.

For Christians Dealing with Tough Issues By Natalie Vellacott I was asked by the author for an honest review and received a free PDF for this purpose."Truth" held my interest which isn't always guaranteed. It was worth reading and tackles some difficult subjects from a Christian perspective. The book is divided into three parts that are cleverly inter-linked with the main characters partially overlapping. The author highlights many important points concerning how we do "church" and how this may not in fact be how God requires us to worship Him. The author clearly has a good knowledge of Scripture and brings it in at every stage of the book.The first part of the story involves an older man who made a profession of faith in his teens but turned his back on God shortly after. A near death experience causes him to re-examine everything. The second part details a mega church pastor and his dramatic fall from being rich, successful and serving the idols of his heart. The third part brings the two stories together and challenges the reader to examine his own heart and life. I thought the second part was most interesting as the author goes into a lot of detail concerning how the mega church pastor ended up in his position and why it was necessary for him to fall. I believe this is a timely message for many church leaders.This is clearly meant to be an evangelistic book but I believe it may appeal more to nominal Christians or those who are back-slidden, also church leaders who are in the ministry for the wrong reasons. There are large portions of scripture documented in the book and detailed conversations about faith take place between the main characters. I'm not sure whether non-believers would persevere and work through the heavy religious content, maybe some who are seeking the truth already would be interested. This book may challenge those who once made a profession causing them to look back over their meaningless lives ...I disagreed with the author on a few minor theological points but nothing worth including in this review. I also felt that the book became predictable in places and at times needed a dose of reality to the outcomes. However, as it is fiction that is the licence of the author."Truth" tackles some controversial issues including marital infidelity, abortion and suicide so this book may not be suitable for younger readers. Having said that it is clean and free of bad language, graphic violence and sexual content. There is some violence but nothing too dramatic.I would recommend for adults especially those dealing with the difficult issues mentioned above as the author makes some good points from a Biblical perspective.
