By Michael D I really like this series, but I absolutely agree with another review: the author either needs a good editor or she needs to do some kind of outline or bible to her stories. Characters change names in the middle of a paragraph, I guess because she either forgot who she was writing about or she stopped for a break and didn't read back to what she had written beforehand. Someone leaves the room only to suddenly be talking as if they were still inside that room, only it isn't really the same person, she just forgot to use the correct name of the person who was left behind... that just yanks me right out of the story while I struggle to figure out who she really meant to be talking, then I have to work my way back into the story only to have it happen again a half dozen pages later.I suppose it's a problem with any author who has a large cast of characters, but it needs more attention as it spoiled some scenes for me,.

The abuse of power and then the relationship equalizes with a strong domination theme staying intact really, really does it for me. I loved the first bundle, and even though this one wasn't quite the same bargain, it's still a really good deal. I also noticed some inconsistencies that the other reviewer mentioned, but they didn't bother me.breaking up with the alpha was my favorite in this series. I just loved loved seeing Marco go back to being his old, overbearing self, though I felt really bad for Nicky. It was so satisfying when it worked itself out for the second time!

Well, to be able to EAT the scrumptious-sounding food these two prepare as they each fight for their dream job: Lucy so she can prove to herself—and her family—that she’s got what it takes to be successful, and Wyatt to pay medical and college bills. All they’ve got to do is combine her haute cuisine with his down-home cooking and gain the agreement of the cowboy groom, the socialite bride, and the eccentric matriarch. And ignore the fact that it’s not just the food that sizzles …Kiss the Cowboy was an enjoyable combination of witty banter, chemistry, deeper discoveries, and more than one sizzling kiss. It was a good plot which managed to neither speed nor drag, likeable (loveable?) characters it was easy to sympathise and empathise with, and a solid Christian message about the importance of finding and living the life God wants for us, not the life others thing we should have.The Kindle version of this book includes a free novella, which is Heather and Wyatt’s story. If you haven’t already read it, you might want to read it first—not that you have to read it to enjoy Kiss the Cowboy, but I prefer to read a series in order. I don’t know why, because it’s a romance novella, so it’s pretty obvious what the ending is going to be. Nevertheless, I prefer not to read what came before after reading what came after.Thanks to Redbud Press for providing a free ebook for review.

Courtney Kiss the Cowboy is inspirational romantic fiction from Redbud Press that is a light, simple read. It's not very long. And I'll admit that it's twaddle. But every once in a while I do enjoy these not very thought-provoking easy reads.There isn't much character development here. The story is pretty predictable. There is the typical pattern of short romances- boy-girl meet, love each other secretly, have some sort of conflict or personal problem that keeps them from accepting their feelings, and finally resolve to live happily ever after. Although the story line is pretty redundant, it works in a romance. And Kiss the Cowboy fits this typical pattern.If you're looking for an easy summer read and enjoy a clean romance, Kiss the Cowboy is one you may want to look at.Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for review. Great book By Linda Rainey Kiss The Cowboy continues the Taste of Texas Series.This book can be read as a stand alone but reading The Art of Falling adds to to the overall reading experience.We are introduced to Lucy Pickett, a Dallas Chef and Dylan Lawson, a modern day cowboy cook.They find they are interviewing for the same catering and sparks fly.Lucy discovers that Dylan is a childhood friend and this makes matters worse.I love the interaction of the characters and our feisty Nana is back,adding an extra depth to the reading experience.This book is for Texas lovers and romance lovers.I look forward to the next book by Julie.A copy of this book was given in exchange for an honest review.

I love to read and have a bend towards murder mysteries (James Patterson). But I have found a true breath of fresh air in these stories. I believe what we allow in affects us greatly. This series has blown out all the negativity and cynicism that has been creeping in. I love all the biblical references and their use in solving life's issues. I am also thankful for all the recipes! Going to look for more of these books.

I just finished the 4th set, Knit & Stitch Circle, and am now starting the 5th set. Hope she keeps writing these! They're faith-based without being preachy. Truly inspirational with captivating story lines.

Kroninger This book will especially resonate with individuals that have or have had alcohol or drug addictions which have led them into criminal activities, but it also has a strong message for people who call themselves Christian, but are often hypocritical and don't act like Christ's example. The book is very well written and easily understood, and Scot does an excellent job of using Scripture throughout the book to support what he says. He doesn't ask you to accept his word, because he bases what he writes on the Word of God.

Steiner I will admit I've been curious about HP Lovecraft but his work always seemed a bit inaccessible to me. JL Howard, on the other hand, has been one of my favorite novelists from page one of Johannes Cabal Necromancer. Howard is highly literate, wickedly smart and inventive and just generally a great writer for anyone who likes good prose and inventive story lines. His new novel, Carter & Lovecraft is both a continuation and extension of those qualities and I found in this book that he is CLEARLY a Lovecraft fan and in fact has referenced those works in The Cabal series. A series I still follow with great enthusiasm, pleasure and joy. The man is just a great author in a time when editing seems to have virtually gone out the window and creative stories which don't follow predictable "guidelines" are usually tossed aside the way Hollywood tosses aside new movies in favor of established "blockbusters" that will generate more predictable box-office earnings.Carter & Lovecraft is both a detective story/mystery and a voyage through "the mountains of madness" as we follow the central characters while they work to suspend their own disbelief and jump down the rabbit hole in order to solve a series of related murders and deaths which seem, on the surface, to be both impossible and factual at the same time. All the while making discoveries about each other, their respective ancestors and the relationships between all of the above, "deaths" included, and the roles they seem destined to play in all of it… which is not to say there isn't some machinations going on behind the scenes as well.This is a novel with depth, great characters, a wide variety of discordant elements designed to keep you on your toes and to lead you through the web of information that Howard is so great as parsing out. You don't have to be a Lovecraft fan to read it but if you, like me, know anything about his work at all then this will probably stir you to look a little further into the inspiration for a fabulous book that easily stands tall on its own merits. I'm inclined to think this is the beginning of a new series for Howard and I can't wait to find out more about Daniel Carter and Emily Lovecraft and where they will be going from their "new" here and now.I'm hoping that this review has been sufficiently vague as to not feel like it spoils anything while also serving as the proper incentive for you to BUY IT RIGHT NOW! ; - ) Howard, as always, is worth every penny.

Howard's an excellent writer (his Johannes Cabal series is tremendously well-crafted), and it's clear that he can translate those skills to a new genre. Carter & Lovecraft is something of a blend of hardboiled detective fiction and supernatural mystery, and the combination goes very well together. I think that at least a minimal familiarity with the H.P. Lovecraft mythos is probably helpful here, but I'm anything but an expert, and never felt like I was missing something. Someone who knows it better would probably catch a lot of things that I didn't.

A slow burn in the beginning that picks up the pace and before you know it you're warping down the rails faster than the recommended operating speed. Excellent, well-developed characters, a great story, and all the terror of Lovecraft that you could hope for. If one thing stood out to me the most, it was the use of details in this book. They followed me and haunted me from beginning to end. I can't think of an example where details were used so well and in such a subtle manner. With any book of Eldritch horror, you have your known unknowns and your unknown unknowns - All I know is that Jonathan L. Howard has made a wonderful Twist on the genre and I very much want more.

About the Author Sayed Mahdi Modarresi is a distinguished faith leader, lecturer, and theologian who specializes in Islamic spirituality. He has led prayers at the United States House of Representatives, delivers lectures around the world, and leads Interpath, a unique interfaith outreach program designed to strengthen relations between the Muslim religious establishment, the Holy See, and other major faith traditions. The Jesus the world didn't see By Mr. Aa Jaffery At a time like no other, amidst growing tensions between the two major dominant religions of the world, there exists little effort in order to understand each other from a historical, theological standpoint. The prologue paints this beautifully, the 2014 visit of Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi al-Modarresi with Pope Francis in joining against the fight to end modern slavery, shows signs of collaboration between the two major religions that would undoubtedly grow in future, and if you like, as the book would have, the quest in understanding these two major Prophets.The literature in appreciating the Quranic "Spirit of Allah" i.e. the muslim account of Jesus is scarce. This is a greatly welcome piece of work that appeals to the common lay reader, the style of the book is conversational, easy to read.Yes, calling the book "The Lost Testament", as the author himself says could be perceived to be "sacrilegious", but don't let that put you off.What is meant here is that the Islamic heritage on the son of Mary has been lost, albeit not just by Christians but by even Muslims themselves. The book uncovers narrations from Jesus transmitted through Prophet Muhammad or his (twelve) successors from classical Shi'i sources. The book is well structured, comprising completely of narrations of Jesus, with commentary. The chapters are divided into: Life, Spirituality, God, Society, The Church while the Appendix gives a brief introduction to Shia Islam. The books serves great as a quick read and also as a reference or manual to what Muslims would argue is the "biblical" way of life, or to live according to the true Gospel. Life lessons on morality, from command to "know yourself" to how to deal with criticism to recognizing the link between cash and clerics (religious or otherwise!)So why not 5 stars? Apart from me being a harsh critic when it comes to Islamic literature, I would have preferred there to be have seen verses from bible complemented with the narrations from Jesus in the commentary. Also, after finishing the reader is still wanting for more, perhaps on the Islamic biography of Jesus with Quranic analysis or what really happened after his death, the disciples and the second coming. The author hints to a follow-up book which I hope would incorporate some of these, along with gems of narrations - which, alone, are the focus and life of the text. Though as a quick read of less than 130 pages, it's a beautiful glimpse of one of God's most dearest and unique of creations.For those who are interested in finding more on the topic, also have a look at:Jesus Through the Qur'an and Shi'ite Narrations, Mahdi Muntazir Qaim

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Simply eye-opening By Hassan Hashim As someone interested in religions I am always looking for new ideas and fresh perspectives. It also helps if the language used is contemporary and relevant. This book delivers on both counts. In a way, it is a cry for reconciliation at a time of morbid anxiety. It is an appeal for peace and harmony at the most critical point in interfaith relations. But above all, it shows that Islam and Christianity have more in common than followers of either faith care to admit. Though not a practicing Christian anymore, I felt more drawn to Jesus after reading 'The Lost Testament' than I did during Eucharist! I would love to see the author delve deeper into his vision of Jesus' life. Highly recommended overall.

Great read for muslims and non muslims alike By Bilal Baalbaki Great book by the Sayed, lots of wisdom in these traditions, gave me the chance to acquaint myself with the Prophet Jesus pbuh. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Good recipes and wonderful pictures By FL Beaver I like the recipes and each one has a great picture that shows you what the dish looks like. With a few exceptions there aren't any very special, high priced ingredients that make preparing a recipe a chore. The reason for the loss of a star is because she doesn't recommends a pan size for her recipes. Sometimes it doesn't make a difference but making a Frittata or a cake in an 8" pan versus a 12" makes a real difference. I would have liked her to at least suggest a size. Even better would have been if she has said up front that all recipe's use a X" pan unless otherwise stated and then told how to adjust in case you don't have that size pan.

By Jill Tamari I'm new to cast-iron cooking, and this is the perfect cookbook for me -- with care and keeping instructions in the beginning (I had no idea that there were specific rules for how to clean and season your skillet, so I really appreciated how clearly the author outlined those instructions right up front), and clear, straight-forward instructions, this cookbook is as user-friendly as it is beautiful. I love that there are recipes for breads and pastries, too -- who knew you could make those in a cast-iron skillet? There's a big variety of recipes, from expected classics to unexpected dishes like naan, so there's really something for everyone. There are beautiful food photos on almost every page, which makes this a really attractive cookbook to give as a gift. Highly recommend!

The cover of my library copy showed a shoot-out, and a guy and gal straight out of a romance novel. The amazon copy cover is more realistic, but forget the fancy looking guy dressed as we expect a preacher to be dressed.There isn't any gun play or hot romance in this story. It is about a simple miner who finds salvation and tries to share it within the community he lives. It is a wonderful tale and you will have a hard time putting it down once you get past a few technical aspects of Chapter One. I didn't want it to end, and the author could easily turn this character into several more books. It should be in the library of every church, especially those who forget the simple rules of salvation. You will feel good after you read this book.

Billy Ray is accustomed to spending the evening at Miss Charlotte's place, doing what every other miner is doing. He wins at blackjack, goes to the up-market Silver Garter, and then the next day gets 'saved' at a preacher meeting. Then he baptizes himself, and sets himself up as a preacher. He meets Hattie Markle, a girl she says he has already met (but he can't recall where). That's the setting for a brilliantly-narrated story of sin and forgiveness. Who is Hattie? What's her secret? How will the townspeople react? A great Western about miners, preaching, life in the raw, and the possibility of salvation. Couldn't put it down. Was hooked from the beginning.

A night of drinking too much and visiting the ladies at Miss Charlotte’s house is his idea of a perfect evening. That is until he meets the preacher. What follows is a story of redemption.I don’t ordinarily read Western’s but was intrigued by the description. It sounded a bit like the old TV show, Gun Smoke, but with a major twist. I wasn’t disappointed. This story isn’t filled with shootouts and cattle rustling, it’s about the human condition. Well done and fun to read.

On December 31, 2013, I was fighting for my life in the surgical ICU while my son was fighting for his life in the cardiac ICU. Thank God that religion had become an integral part of our daily lives. Without it, I don't think any of us would have survived the past year. While I was pregnant, I started a blog to inform our family and friends of our challenges that we were facing with our unborn son. The blog took on a life of its own as people started coming out of the woodwork to get updates and pray for us. I wanted to share our newfound faith and hope with as many people as possible with the intent to shed light on God's undying love for us. Along the way, we repeatedly battled with life and death, all the while trusting in the plan that God had laid out for us.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Loved all 3 books! By Annie Morgan Very well written. Great characters. I felt like I was looking at the drawings Langston drew. Very descriptive writing. Was anxious to read the next book in line. Now I want to read the next three. Harper has that special something that draws the reader immediately into the story.

I enjoy reading about a part of the country that I've never visited, and this author described the culture and geography very well, but I would certainly not recommend the author to any friends or family.

They had a tough childhood and their mother died too early with cancer. But they do have each other to help mull over the why's and wherefores of how their father treated them.
