Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York Michele was drawn to literature and writing at a young age. She enrolled at Brooklyn College and majored in English. By Nomore This book ended my long journey....after 3 years of being targeted by an ex-boyfriend, I have found in Michele's book a clear, straight forward, insightful description of my own experience in relationship with what I now know to be a Psychopath. Michele organized and addressed many of my own experiences in my brief, but devastating, relationship with a Psychopath...which I have been struggling to piece together for the last 3 years. The relationship ended, but the targeting did not. I have asked myself all of the questions this book describes...."Is it me", "Am I imagining the lies", "Is what he says about me true", "How can he be one way one minute and another next", "why am I afraid of him", and so many more questions discussed openly by Michelle. Presented with clear answers. And I WAS physically hurt by this man...everything that this book tries to inform the reader about happened to me. Michele, I will forever be indebted to you, for today I DO understand, I have put down the fight and I have peace. Thank you!

I learned a lot about the personality traits of psychopaths and sociopaths. This book gave me lots of ideas and support for coping in such situations and really made it clear what personality disorders are and can do to people. It really again shows a whole new perspective on someone who thinks what they're doing is right. It's interesting to learn about what goes on inside their brains and why they do what they do. Through my reading with this book especially the psychopath's checklist, I realize a lot of things and think of somebody that I know or I used to know that have this kind of mental disorder.If you have some doubts about your partner, this book is right for you.

Good book By Vera Dating with psychically ill person can be a stressful for people, especially because most of us are not educated to learn how to react in unpredictable situations. This book explains how to react if you realize that you are dating a mentally ill person. I did not know what will I read in it, but it gave me the basic knowledge about this matter.

What would they say that would make a difference in my life?As I read a devotion, one a day, each person pointed to a lesson learned, lessons I could take as my own. Each story, sad or happy, pointed to God. The Scripture verses and the prayer at the end emphasized something that happened in the author's life.Although I have already read the twenty-nine devotions I will re-read it from time to time and let it bless me again.

Only 30 Devotions for Ten Dollars By Mary of Troy I love this devotional; I did a "preview" on the Kindle app, but there was no table of contents to see how many there were. I decided to order TWO, one for me and one for a gift for Christmas, so that I could take advantage of the journaling part (lined pages in the book). I just rec'd both. I was surprised that it was so small for the price - only 30 days worth. Therefore, I would recommend the Kindle version, but not the paper version, which is three times as much. This was done in 2009, so it looks like you'd be done after just 30 times of using it with no further installments. Too bad..

By Brian Michael Good, Writer - Entrepreneur The basic eating rules explained in this book of Paleo lunch recipes were very simple: low fat, fresh vegetables and fruits, cut out refined sugar and salt, with an emphasis meat, fish, roots, and nuts. I found these Paleo lunch recipes to be a balanced low-fat cooking approach to weight loss that should help get high insulin resistance under control. The Paleo lunch gave me sufficient energy to get me through the day. The author and book delivered what was promised and recipes motivated me to eat healthy.

BayerPublished by National Defense Intelligence College Press in February 2010The Blue Planet is a very interesting book which discusses a very hot topic of police-intelligence interface and the thin line between effective defense and abuse of power. Jacqueline Ross in her foreword stated that informal police networks were effectively used in fighting organized crime, but were so far underused in identifying terrorist threats and preventing attacks; and pointed out that U.S. intelligence agencies rely too much on secret sources of information compared to relatively freely shared information from law enforcement agencies. The author essentially explains that terror plots should be dealt with in a standard manner known from battling organized crime and transferred to the police instead of the military and intelligence agencies. The main argument is that information sharing between intelligence agencies even within the EU is considered a matter of national sovereignty, whilst sharing information between different branches of national police is not. The author himself values highly the U.S. system of checks and balances, and considers the current situation after 9/11 attacks off balance because of enhanced executive (presidential) authority due to the fact that the president is a Commander-in-Chief and the military is exceptionally susceptible to political designs of the president and his administration.In the first two chapters, the author explains the unique hybrid role of the FBI, and their ability to act as both intelligence and police structure; reviews main changes in legal background for functioning of different agencies, the shift from domestic to international activities, and militarization of overall national security policy. Information sharing among national intelligence agencies is severely restricted. Compared to this, the total numbers of the police worldwide are significantly higher, and due to the fact that they have direct contact with the communities, they can serve as important intelligence source and resource. The main point is that "it takes a network to fight networks". Most of "real" work is done informally rather than through formal investigation and proceedings.In chapter three, the author argues why and how institutional failures allowed 9/11 attacks to happen, and how the classification of intelligence procedures originating in early 1980's made the intelligence community more rigid and less able to respond to a different type of threat. Attention is also paid to over-classification of intelligence, vulnerability to leaks, and consequences of leaked information in relation to personal agendas and activities of traitors. The authors consider SBU (Sensitive But Unclassified) and LES (Law Enforcement Sensitive) categories much more convenient and safer, and argue that the Marshal's Witness Protection Program over 30 years of its existence did not lose a single witness, despite dealing with cases against highly dangerous criminal, human trafficking, and narcoterrorist gangs. In this section, the author also lists departments which send their agents to operate abroad.Chapter Apples, Oranges, and Lemons explains interface between the law enforcement and intelligence community, and military and intelligence when it comes to counterterrorist activities. There is another network with serious potential in tackling international organized crime, and that is American Society for Industrial Security, which cooperates closely with the FBI. The most important drawbacks in international policing in relation to organized crime and terrorism are legal processes and procedural constraints; because national police forces can be closely tied to political centers, corrupt, and/or incompetent. In next chapter, the author presents cases of cooperation with countries in which the USA has got little or no diplomatic ties, e.g. successful investigation and prosecution of child pornography cases originating from Cuba and China, or Operation Triple X in which wide criminal network from Indonesia connected to Jamaah-al Islamiya was uncovered. On a case of Czech organized crime network connected to Russian gangs, which involved visa fraud and trafficking of young women for peep shows in the USA, the author explains how vulnerable the system of issuing visa was, and how it could later be exploited by the terrorists for the 9/11 attacks.In short, this is an interesting point of view, and is well argued. The author does not seem to worry about abuse of power by the police, especially in places where the systems of checks and balances are less effective than in the USA; and where the division between intelligence and police is less strict or non-existent.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Abrupt conclusion ruins a good yarn. By compassrose A pretty standard WW2 sea story. It's always a question of will they make it, and at what cost. That's the suspense that keeps it going. However, it ends abruptly and this doesn't bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. Obviously the author will continue this story in a sequel but doesn't appear to know how to bring this novel to a satisfactory ending. Each book, though part of a projected series, should be able to stand on its own merits. He just pulled the plug and left me unsatisfied. I won't read any further books in this series because I am certain the same thing will happen in each book. It's almost as though the author stopped in mid-thought. Too bad because I rather cared about the main characters.

Set in the pivotal years of WW II, Malta, in crisis, desperately needs delivery of goods to maintain civilian life as well as protecting all inhabitants. Food, medicines, ammunition and the precious, more importantly, the life blood of the RAF, aviation grade fuel. Around of this, he weaves a layered morality play featuring several characters one can easily invest in. For the reader's who seek action and excitement, this will satisfy all. I am a newly arrived McCutchan fan and I am looking forward to more of his engaging stories.

What Russia Could and Might Yet Be By John The book, The Russian Idea, by Vladimir Sergeyevich Solovyov is a book that is at once both prophetic and mysterious. Translated and just published by Rev. Fr. John P. Rickert (FSSP), the long essay gives the reader wonderful insights into the workings of the Russian soul.The author was a nineteenth century Russian philosopher and mystic who died in 1900. As such, Solovyov shared complex philosophical positions common to the times but he also knew the Russian soul well. He was not afraid to defend his country against the liberal trends of the times. He adopted an organic vision of Russian society characterized by family-like links, natural leadership, and a God-given mission. This vision ran contrary to the then-popular mechanical model of the Industrial Revolution which likened society to a machine.Solovyov claims that Russia must seek out her role in the order of the universe. He believed Russia should follow in the plans of God and not in the plans of a secularized world. He wrote: “The idea of a nation is not what it thinks of itself in time but instead what God thinks of it in eternity.”That is why Solovyov minced no words when criticizing the state of the Orthodox Church, which he saw as an obstacle to fulfilling the Russian mission. He quotes unbiased sources which show the Orthodox Church of that time to be full of corruption and sin as it remained under the control of the Russian government. Given its structure, it is clear that Russian orthodoxy is anything but orthodox. In a similar way, the author also criticized the brutal and narrow vision of Russian nationalism, which is especially revealing considering the rise of Putin. Finally, Solovyov emphasized the need for a Supreme Pontiff to provide a point of unity for Christendom that his church does not and cannot have.While persecuted for his outspoken views, Solovyov nevertheless had the courage to openly proclaim his admiration for the Catholic Church and made known his desire to see Russia return to the Church. He amazingly perceived something of the conversion of Russia foreseen by Our Lady at Fatima in 1917.By outlining the nation’s needs, The Russian Idea gives a brief glimpse of what Russia could and might yet be. Holy Mother Russia has always been turned toward grand, mysterious and marvelous places, liturgy and deeds, and so it should be in the future. Like an ancient icon, Russia has a side of captivating mystery shrouded in silence and penumbra awaiting the day when she might manifest herself to the world. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Clear and Concise Solovyov By Stephen Mattia Solovyov has appeal, among several reasons, for the universality of his ideas. The ability to appeal to a broader cultural and national audience has always been his. I think that it is because of his firm belief in the true Catholic Faith which gives his thoughts no national constraints. What makes Solovyov difficult at times to understand is his use of terms and language which are laced with mystical content and which do not always lend to precise interpretation. This little booklet - The Russian Idea - is one of the clearest translations of Solovyov I have been privileged to read. In the final analysis, The Russian Idea is a very simple one: The Russian people and their nation and state have a role to play - as part of the Mystical Body of Christ. The working out of that idea will be a blessing for Russia and the world. But, if the Russian people reject that idea, which is God's special purpose for them, then Russia will be a curse to mankind as well as themselves. It is the message of Fatima, it is the message of God to a world gone mad. Russia will be part of the salvation of mankind or contribute to its destruction. But, even in destruction, God's will be done - his word does not return empty.In this clear translation; this is the Russian idea as stated by Solovyov: "The Russian idea...demands of us that we recognize ourselves to be in solidarity with the universal family of Christ and to employ all our national capabilities, all of the power of our empire, to the complete realization of the social Trinity, where every one of the three principal, co -integrated unities, the Church, the State, and Society is absolutely free and sovereign...in affirming the absolute solidarity among them. The Truth about Russia By Ianto Watt Having read much of Solovyov's work, this book (previously untranslated) seems to be the kernel from which his later and more famous works grew. The succint yet clear translation was most accessible, and edifying. This book is an absolute necessity for anyone who wishes to understand Solovyov (and by implication, Russia). And that is critical to understanding what is in store for the West, as it has relinquished the the active principle, which now seems to reside in Moscow. Want to understand Putin? Begin with Solovyov!

Recipes look delicious but could use a bit of editing By Reader2 The Table of Contents is integrated into four sections; Chicken Dishes, Beef Recipes, Pork Recipes, and Chinese Appetizers. There are 10 recipes in each section for a total of 40 recipes. Each of the recipes has a photo but some of the photos are "very" small. You can, however, zoom-in and make them large enough to get a better idea of what the dish will look like when finished. Most of the recipes are nicely formatted, starting with the title at the top of the page, followed by a picture and then the ingredients and directions. Each recipe ends with a "Top Tip" section, to give you ideas for changing the recipe.I didn't give the book five stars because there were several errors, probably due to translation. Most mistakes are simple and easy to read over but a few take a bit of work to decipher.Regardless of the few errors I saw, most of the recipes I read looked easy and delicious. I'll definitely be giving some of these a try.

The photos of the finished dishes really add interest as well as providing a novice with a good idea of what they will actually be eating. I’m looking forward to trying some of these delicious-sounding recipes.The one improvement I would suggest to this author for future recipe books is to put the recipe title, the photo of the finished dish, and the recipe – or at least the beginning of the recipe – on the same page. This would make it easier for the user to find what they want to make.

Now I can't take too long to write a review because there are 5 dishes I want to try from this book!The author does a good job of providing information and directions. I think this is a very useful book!

The material for this book began to be compiled in the year 2000. It was then that Pam met a young woman --- "Maria." An active member of a non-denominational, word of faith church for several years, Maria spoke in tongues, preached the cross, prophesied and enthusiastically participated in worship, prayer and praise on a daily basis. Yet, she was bound---consistently tormented by demons who projected blasphemous thoughts into her mind and accused and condemned her daily in an audible voice. One day, Maria had a dream that showed her that she had 3 phython snakes inside of her. In her dream, Maria was told "Find Pam and seek deliverance." Maria's is a landmark case that brought forth amazing revelations.
