I think this is the sort of story women will love. I, myself, probably would not have read it except that I was nostalgic for Christmas stories. In fact, one quote at the heading for December 23, grabbed me. Christmas is a time of year when you get homesick, even when you’re already home.Although the author's ownership of a Yorkshire Terrier has nothing directly to do with the story, her declaration of her love for the dog hooked me, because my wife and I also have a Yorkie, Egyptian born and raised, but his daddy was born in Britain. Okay, a flaky reason, perhaps, but it's as good as any for me to choose this story at this time of year...What was the Amazon Rank on the date this review was published? 18,284.Is this a book that I can read without having to read others first?.Yes, but to fully appreciate the nuances, it would be better to read the previous stories about Clara by this author.Are there a lot of typos/misspellings, grammatical errors or other editing failures? No, this is well edited.Is this a fast, easy read or is it more of a leisure read? This is a quick, easy, leisurely read that gets the reader more in the mood for Christmas.What sort of language does this writer use to amplify the points made? Some good lol moments and some 'awww how sweet' times too.Lacey has a writing style with an ease of flow, keeping the tone fast paced makes it easy to devour. I have tried a few of the recipes and they're delicious! I'm a "health nut" and I get made fun of frequently about how I eat food with "no taste". This book proves all the fast foodies wrong in that you can eat healthy, and still enjoy a yummy meal!

The recipes are great--super easy, delicious, and healthy. My favorite so far is the sweet potato noodle pancakes. I also really like that the author includes nutrition info with each recipes.

A must for Smokey Mountain owners By Cassady H After purchasing a Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker, my husband and I waited patiently for a year for this cookbook to come out- we couldn't be more thrilled with it. We've purchased a few other smoking books but were disappointed to find that many of the recipes were geared towards smoking on a grill or some other type of smoker, the recipes weren't necessarily compatible with the Smokey Mountain.Bill Gillespie has delivered dozens of incredible recipes geared towards Smokey Mountain owners. The recipes are easy to follow and it eliminates the guess work involved with having to adapt a recipe to work with the Smokey Mountain. You can certainly muddle through online forums and you tube to find specific recipes for the Smokey Mountain or try to adapt recipes for other cookers. But if you're somewhat of a novice to smoking, if you're not someone who is firing up the smoker every day to play around with timing and temps or if you're looking for no-fail recipes that guarantee great results with the Smokey Mountain, this book is a must have.We've worked through a handful of the recipes and been more than satisfied with them all. We even ventured into the quicker, high-heat recipes and had great results with the quick brisket.

By Chef Scott After touring many of the BBQ establishments across the state of Texas it was a blessing to be given the opportunity to evaluate and review this book for Amazon-vine. It's a straight forward no nonsense common mans Secrets to Smoking. Bill Gillespie takes the guess work out of the smoker and gives you loads of recipes in this book. To beat all hes focusing on the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker, which is a bare bones system, pretty much as common as you can get.I've been smoking all sorts of proteins on my char-broiler smoker and between Aaron Franklin's new book and this one I'm well set on how to create some excellent Cue. the recipes in here are fantastic, my favorite from page 39 is the Armadillo eggs! The techniques, tips and tricks to getting flavor from a simple protein or anything else is pretty much spelled out in the cookbook.It's mouth watering, lip-smacking reading and I guarantee that you will have friends and family lined up at your next BBQ feast when you pull out your smoker, and fire up some of these recipes!

It gives and explains techniques specific to the cooker that would take years to understand on your own. The high heat brisket and prime rib recipes are awesome. If you own a weber smoker, this is the best recipe book you will ever own.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A Short Primer on St. Augustine That's Well Worth Reading By Amadeus Just finished Dr. Taylor Marshall's new e-book "St Augustine in 50 Pages." It was a nice overview of the saint's life and work. As someone who's read Augustine's "Confessions" several times and the entire "City of God," I still learned quite a bit from Dr Marshall's short treatment. If you're completely unfamiliar with Augustine's work or if your a seasoned Augustine devotee, this book is worth checking out.

I have also since attended two of his live webinars. I can highly recommend this book. Taylor really knows how to pack a lot of information into 50 pages. This book follows his immensely popular Thomas Aquinas in 50 Pages: The Layman's Quick Guide to Thomism. Even though almost 900 years separated the two authors these in 50 pages books links them, their works and give good reasons for us to be studying them and going deeper. Marshall writes in a very engaging and easy to read style. To be honest I hit the end of the book and was surprised even knowing it was a short volume when I began. He presents the material in such a way that it does not seem like many academic writers, and as such is quickly becoming a favourite writer of mine.The chapters in this book are:IntroductionWho was Saint Augustine?Augustine's ContributionsAugustine's LegacyList of Books on Augustine for BeginnersThe Writings of AugustineTaylor states of Augustine that: "Augustine was great at writing and disputation. He kept the quill in his hand. His books and sermons reveal a man gifted for infusing heartfelt passion into theology so as to make it practical." And to be honest that is what Taylor himself is doing. This book can be a reminder for those of us who finished formal studies years ago, for the younger reader as a primer for a high school or first year university course. Or for anyone who wants to dip their toes in the pool of knowledge but be warned once you get the toes wet especially with an author like Taylor you will likely dive in.This was a wonderful little read. And I do plan on going on and very soon reading more from Taylor R. Marshall. I can recommend this book and believe that it will spark a hunger and thirst for more knowledge. Give it a go you have nothing to lose and maybe a whole lot to gain. Well done Mr. Marshall well done.

By Laureate This pamphlet, besides not being quite 50 pages, is poorly edited with many omitted prepositions and being verbs. Furthermore, the author has repeated a whole paragraph twice on pages 31-32. Not much new material here that Wikipedia couldn't provide. Certainly not worth $15.

When most people think about a true love story, they naturally envision a couple jumping into a bed and making mad passionate love to each other. If the scene is from a movie or from a television show, then they would probably see the two going into a bedroom together and then waking up the next day lying next to each other. However, while that in many cases might be an example of true love, it pales in comparison to the true love that God the Father had showed to human beings when He had offered His only begotten Son on the cross of Calvary. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." For one thing, the love that people see in the movies or on the television only presents a temporary kind of love that must cease when one of the two partners passes away. In fact, in many cases, that kind of love actually ceases long before the passing of one of the two partners. But the love that God has expressed for ALL human beings is eternal. When Jesus had died on the cross to pay the sin debt for all people that will come to Him by faith in the right spirit and with the right attitude, then He had paved the way for them to be reconciled to Him and to have everlasting life in heaven with Him. So while that might not seem like such a big deal to many people, it will someday be a very big deal once those people have ended their time in this existence. Therefore, the purpose of this book will be to talk about the perfect love that God has showed for each person. In doing that, it will talk about the last week of the incarnated life of Jesus. That week had begun with His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on what has traditionally been recognized as Palm Sunday in many places of the world. It will then talk about the fig tree that He had cursed. On the next day, He had gone into Jerusalem to teach some parables and some discourses in the temple. He had first spoken three slanderous truths against the ungodly spiritual leaders of Israel. After that, He had spoken about paying tribute money or taxes to the Roman authorities. He had spoken about the resurrection. He had spoken about the two greatest commandments by which all people should live. He had pointed out the extreme sacrificial offering of a poor widow and the extreme hypocrisy of the Pharisees. He had spoken about some of the events of the end of the Age. He had spoken about the preparedness of ten virgins. He had told a parable about the servant with ten talents. He had then concluded His discourses for the day by sharing with them a parable about the sheep and the goats. So, each of those twelve oratory remarks will be discussed chapters two through five of this text. After those discussions, chapter six will examine the last hours before He had been taken into custody. Some of the events considered will be His last supper with His disciples, His high priestly prayer for those people that follow Him, His betrayal by Judas, and the six trials through which He had been rushed as the Jewish leaders had sought a quick execution. Chapter seven will discuss His having been scourged and His crucifixion. Chapter eight will discuss His seven statements from the cross. Then, chapter nine will conclude this text with a final look at God's perfect love. The hope in writing this book is that all people will be drawn into a closer relationship with the Lord that had died for them on the cross. He is definitely worthy of all praise.

It shows very clearly that throughout Jesus's life, death, and resurrection, He demonstrated His love for all people.I specifically liked the final chapter summarizing Jesus's love for us in providing a way to Heaven forever for all who will seek Him as their Savior with a right heart attitude.

It was such a sweet yet sad story and once they got their HEA I moved on to my next read but thoughts of how their love story would continue, would Ori manage to change the nest, lingered on. Lucky me Ms. Dare wrote another story, really a simple novella, that answered my questions.It’s been almost a year since Ori first full shift into a swan. He’s happy in his submissive role to Raynard, adjusted to his life as a swan and the changes he brought to in the nest. When the nest elders want to have a party to celebrate Ori’s birthday, suddenly he’s not so sure of himself. Just a few words from his master, brings all his doubts back. Ori tries to be a good swan and submissive but what’s the point when Raynard didn’t want a swan in the first place.Celebrate was a quick read but it brought back found memories of Ori. His insecurities are still there but Raynard is there to help him along. We get a quick revisit with Hamilton (which I’m still on the fence about him) as well as a trip into the nest. It was nice to see how Ori has made a difference in the nest and how he went from a unwanted ugly duckling to a beloved swan. Raynard is still the perfect master for Ori. How he manages to instill in Ori he is still all he could ever want in a sub was just as satisfying in Celebration as was in the previous book. A must read for all fans of Kim Dare’s Avian Shifters series!I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I loved reading more about Ori! By fanfic3112 Duck was my first male/male romance and my first BDSM read and it is still one of my favorites. I was so excited when Magpie came out but Celebrate was just icing on the Avian shifter cake! I love the world building that went into the nest and I loved how it stayed consistent in both Magpie and Celebrate. Ori is the same adorable awkward nervous little Avian despite finding out he was a swan and I adore his Master who combines control and eroticism in one secure comforting package wrapped perfectly around Ori with a strip of black leather. I love that he is still learning his role as a swan in the nest and that his master does not allow the hierarchy of the nest to force Ori into a role that would overwhelm him. He supports Ori while never being any the less the master. It was so great returning to the world of the nest and I am so hoping there will be another book coming soon! I can't wait to read more! The life of the nest, it's characters, their roles in society and how it's told thru their avian characteristics and the pecking order is fascinating!

Hot addition to Ori and Raynard's story By JJ Ori’s nest has put together a celebration for the occasion of Ori’s first year anniversary of shifting into a swan. Ori is getting used to his new status as a swan, but he still doesn’t see a reason to celebrate. To add to his worries, he thinks that Raynard forgot his anniversary date. Though Raynard has been his master for over a year, Ori still has insecurities about their relationship. When the celebration is over, Raynard has a surprise for Ori.This story was extremely hot. I love the way Ori submits so fully to Raynard without thought of his own needs and desires. He’s the perfect submissive, and Raynard is the perfect dom. Since the next book in the series, Magpie, appears to deal with another couple, I was so glad to revisit Ori and Raynard. Celebrate was short, but well worth reading. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series, and I hope to see more of Ori and Raynard even if their on the sidelines. I recommend Celebrate to anyone who loves BDSM, M/M Fantasy, and M/M Erotic Romance.Reviewed for Love Bytes

Needs more photos By Ashley Well first I will start off by saying I am not a Vegan because I do enjoy meat but this was a good read because some days I like to switch things up.I enjoyed the one pot meals. I like the convenience of throwing all the food into a pot or a crockpot and just letting it all cook. Today we are all so busy with work , kids , school. It can be a hassle to try and cook on a daily basis for families or even just for ourselves.I live alone and it is extremely hard to cook for just myself. So much food goes to waste so I usually just make a sandwich.This book helped me with that. I can make small things without meat for just myself.I read this book on my kindle so I am not sure if the paperback is the same but their aren't many photos of the recipes. Thats the only reason I gave the 4 star rating. I like to see a photo of what I am making. Other than that small hiccup this book was a wonderful read.

We are not vegetarians, nor are we vegan, however, this book is great for the nights we want something a little lighter.The recipes all make for 2, which is nice--rather than creating and hoping someone wants leftovers. In addition to this there are tips with many of the recipes on what to do when a recipe doesn't call for the whole can of something--how to maximize usage and minimize waster--and let's face it with today's food prices, maximizing usage is a plus!There are also substitution suggestions.Recipes are clearly labeled if they are soy free nut free or dairy free.This book has some great information on saving money. I really loved the section on 10 ingredients to keep in your pantry. The recipes are well balanced including recipes for all three meals and also dessert! There are recipes that require time, and many that are 30 minutes or less.The one thing I did not like about this book is that the beginning is a turn off--the author's wording is almost a lecture to those who opt to eat meat. Eat and let eat!Aside from the beginning, I really found this cookbook to be helpful and useful.

By D.Cruz Although the book an interesting book, I gave the book only 4 stars due to obvious biased opinions in the beginning. I am not vegan, but I am about 20 pounds heavier than I would like to be. I used this book to guide healthier eating options to slim down. I found the recipes easy to follow, and I personally love that the recipes are enough for more than a single serving. A couple could easily share almost every recipe. I thought doing a vegan diet for 2 months might have been difficult, but this book has definitely helped with the transition! I recommend this for anyone wishing to clean up their diet. :)
