Since this is for couples [no kids in the house] - plan ahead with wine and candles for a nice conversational dinner By Donald Beaulieu Each recipe has clear instructions on how the dish is to be prepared from a practical viewpoint, not just combining ingredients. Being one who eats meat very sparingly, I appreciated that the seafood section had a whole 20 pages and there was even a separate section for meatless entries. Having the preparation time clearly displayed along with the level of difficulty - I found to be a big help in choosing the meals. Hayes At last, a great collection of recipes that aren't written for 4-6-even 12 servings! I was tired of modifying ingredient amounts in order to prepare tasty meals for one or two. Leftovers are great, but not after every meal I prepare! The recipes are more healthy than not, and I especially liked seeing new ideas for preparing fish and veggies. Also helpful is the author's note on a recipe's degree of difficulty and suggested wine parings. I highly recommend this cookbook for singles like me and couples. Worth the buy!

Portion size is helpful as I have had to get used to cooking for only two people and have always been used to cooking for a family of six. The recipes are easy & delicious. There are also substitute ingreds you can add which is handy. Great gift for a wedding couple too.
