I admire both Shannon West and Victoria Sue as individual writers, both have strong alpha traits themselves and I have to admit that I did wonder when this coalition happened, if they would be having their own battle for Supreme Alpha position? If they did, any rebellion certainly didn't rear its ugly head here, it was cohesively written which highlights their strengths as writers.This is the third book in the series and for me, I find each new book growing stronger and stronger in relation to storyline intricacies and character development. This time around its Rhys/Brandon and Tucker/Cody’s stories.The Authors take the traditional love/hate relationship (that we readers love to devour but torture ourselves in the process of doing so) with Rhys and Brandon to a whole new level! I lost count of the number of times I wanted to take Rhys’s “alpha-ness” and shove it up his arse, his arrogance rubbing me up the wrong way when it rose to the surface, especially when proclaiming “this is purely biological. I don't love you”. Way to go Rhys! You showed everyone that you should have been born an Ass rather than the Wolf that you are. I really didn't think that Rhys deserved Brandon’s love. Unlike Tucker and Cody, these two were meant to be, I was seriously crazy about them, the way the Author’s didn't overplay their hands on their story, worked so very well.For me, Victoria Sue’s biggest strength is her incredible detailing. She reminds me of archeologist, leaving no stone unturned in her quest for delivering a comprehensive story, her skills were certainly highlighted in this book, her portrayal was superb.Shannon West’s influence was seen throughout the book. It’s a given fact that she leaves most Authors standing when it comes to writing erotic sex scenes, but I've always felt she was underrated when it comes to her depiction of a repressive “baddie” – boy-oh-boy, does she write a good one (or should that be a bad one? lol). Her word building and characterisation of her MCs is just so impressive.Loved this book, love the series and love these two writers writing together.Five alpha strength stars from me.****I would like to thank the Author for the privilege and opportunity of reviewing this ARC. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Where's the sex? By Amazon Customer This story was good in that as usual the storytelling is supreme even though Rhys us a jerk. So why the low score? There was no sex. 2 couples and no sex. A few pages (in total) of groping and maybe 2 paragraphs worth of oral sex but that's it. If I wanted that is read Harlequin...well maybe not Harlequin but you get my point.

In book 1 we had a very dominant wolf with a submissive human then in book 2 they completely flipped that dynamic round. This book gives us something new again – two couples – one entirely wolf and the other entirely human. Add to that an enemy to lover storyline and Strength of the Alpha is a clear winner.This story concentrates on Brandon and Rhys and Tucker and Cody although we do get to see our old favourites too.Rhys certainly wasn’t likeable and not at all popular with me at the beginning. Too quick to make assumptions, too easily led by the gossip and too full of himself to stop and think. He took being an alpha to the extreme and in doing so missed who Brandon truly was both to him personally and as a person. Basically he was an ass but underneath all that was a deep fear of falling in love – he does redeem himself a little at the end.Devon is attracted to Rhys at the same time as hating his guts mainly down to how the other man treats him. As Devon opens up you learn more about what happened to him under his old alpha, before his brother rescued him, it’s not pretty and nor is he fully healed.Tucker is a human alpha male. He’ll never be as strong as his wolf counterparts but he doesn’t back down and is just as possessive and grouchy. Putting in humans as equals to the wolves is a clever way of expanding the story, I like it, and his feelings for Cody were just as strong as any mating pull even down to ‘mine’ and the good old alpha chest beating.Cody was just cute. So much smaller than everyone else but doggedly determined not to give up, it took so much for him to learn that his skills were just as important as being able to fight. He was funny, even when badly beaten his humour remained and he was adamant he didn’t want to go back to being a house human.Their stories run alongside each other and it is Cody and Brandon that really save the day when the chips are down. This was a great third book in a series that keeps surprising me with its twists and turns.
