By Geraldine I'm not much of a camper (haven't camped out in a long time!) but I am an avid cook and cookbook author, so this book title still intrigued me. I'm so glad I downloaded it!Author Beth McRoberts shares valuable tips on how to camp and cook the right way, without too much equipment or preparation required, before heading out to the great outdoors.Some of the many topics covered include:Meal Planning Before You GoWhat First Aid Supplies to TakeHow To Build a Safe FireCooking Over a CampfireFood Safety Tips for CampersA number of easy recipesand many more.Definitely worth reading if you are planning a camping trip this coming summer and want to simplify the process of getting prepared. And also, how to avoid the "hot dog and marshmallow" syndrome which often ends up being what most people limit themselves too, when it comes to campfire cooking.The only thing that I didn't particularly agree with was the author's suggestion of using aluminum cooking pots. I'm not a fan of aluminum in the kitchen for health reasons, but she does make a good point about the light-weight being a consideration, for camping use.Recommended!Geraldine Helen Hartman, award winning cookbook author
