Definite potential but didn't deliver By Sarah C I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I'm not sure how to rate this story. On one hand, the concept was fun and exciting. On the other hand, the book needs editing and the short length did more harm than good.Basically we have a story about Jules who is constantly going from one bad relationship to another. This doesn't include his verbally abusive relationship with his father. All he wants is to be happy with the man of his dreams, but he is starting to give up hope. The one man he looks up to, and who he has never known, was his great-grandfather, Athmore. Athmore lived during a time where being gay was illegal, so he married a woman he didn't love but had his lover Crescent by his side. Jules desperately wants the kind of love his grandfather had, but his father is determined to make him straight and keep the family image to his liking. When the ghosts of Athmore and Crescent visit Jules, pleading him to make the truth know about their deaths, all Jules can do is help out these two men who have come to mean a lot to him.Sounds great right! Well, it could have been. Like I stated the book could use some editing. There were a couple of times I read a sentence, and had to go back and reread it because it didn't make sense. I can overlook that though if the story is great.I did like the story but the length did more damage than good. This story is only 45 pages, so you can imagine how fast everything moves. A lot of elements mentioned in the story were never explained and then there was, dare I say it.....insta-love. If the author decides to expand this story to a full length book, I would instantly be on board to read it. The ideas were great but there wasn't enough time to develop it properly.Overall a sweet read that has a lot of potential.

Kennett 6I was given this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.I finished this book yesterday and wanted some time to think about my review for it.I don't like to leave negative reviews and try to find something positive but I really struggled.Firstly, this book was given to MM Romance readers to review. However, to me this book isn't a MM Romance. The story starts the morning after for our MC Jules. He is then single throughout the remainder of the book until he is flirting during the final paragraphs. So no relationship, so how can it be a romance book?Secondly, the book is short. Short books can go one of 2 ways. An author can plot out the story and build it fast, keeping to the outline not having many distractions. You get to the end of the book and although its short you feel its a rounded book which you enjoyed and maybe would like to see it expanded into a full length novel. This book falls into the second camp. There are lots of threads which really don't come to much. The homophobic father, the mother who really has no right to be called a mother, a female best friend who is always there to comfort. There is the introduction of a mystery from over 100 years ago introduced. Ghosts visit the MC and other characters. Nobody freaks out. Its perfectly normal for you to be speaking to a ghost?I think the biggest mystery was if you are supposed to meet The One, and Jules supposedly did at the party at the end of the book, why did it take so long. The One for Jules was Di's cousin. Now supposedly Di and Jules had been friends for a very long time. She never thought to introduce the cousin to Jules in all that time?Lastly, I didn't get the title. It played no purpose in the book until the last couple of sentences.Such a shame because I think that this book had potential and it sadly didn't live up to it.

I feel like it was a lovely story By Ana I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through the DBML program of the M/M Romance group at goodreads.I feel like it was a lovely story. I especially liked Diona, she was such a great character, a very good friend. Someone who can be trusted. Her and her family were great.Jules was nice, but i felt like there were moments when he act very different of what would be expected, that's nice, but i feel like it was out of character. At the beginning of the story his feelings were very well transmitted, but i think that was decreasing when the story keep going. Near the end i find hard to connect with any emotion he had.The plot was interesting, but i feel like it was too rushed. It was full of great ideas, but i'm not sure they worked so good altogether.Heartbroken ghosts?, i guess i was expecting something less literal. I didn't like that part too much, but that's on my, because the blurb was clear. Yet, i had a bit of an issue because of the way everyone reacted to them.Jules family was just awful, the way things end up with them was also a little rushed.I finished the book wishing it was longer, because as i said, i think the writer had good ideas, but the story was too short to fully develop them.Overall i think it was a nice story, i saw that there's a sequel, i would check on that one, because i want to know what comes next.By the way, i loved the cover, it's very beautiful. It was what attract me to the book on the first place, i'm glad i'd read it.
