Richard The first book in the Cowboys, Doctors...Daddies miniseries is an emotionally rewarding romance of second chances. Lynne Marshall has written connected books about two brothers who were raised on a Wyoming ranch and later became doctors. One is a renowned cardiologist but the other has his own practice in the quaint town where he grew up. Putting duty before his own wishes, Dr. Trevor Montgomery has a good life but does not let any relationship get serious. When a woman he once knew comes back to Cattleman Bluff, they discover buried feelings quickly awaken and the resulting possibilities are much unexpected.Though Julie Sterling had never wanted to return to her hometown of Cattleman Bluff, Wyoming, she decided it was the best option for her son, the one person who means everything to her. She has not lived there since becoming pregnant over thirteen years before, but now she is seeking employment with Trevor Montgomery, the very man who caused her to be a mother. Circumstances make it practical for Julie to live in her childhood home, and she really needs the job as a nurse practitioner to support her son. Working for the family doctor will pay her bills, but being around Trevor who does not know about his son will be difficult.When Julie realizes the time to stop withholding the truth about their son has finally arrived, she gives the shocking news to Trevor. Though he certainly remembers her and the secret encounter they shared, he never imaged the incident had led to him being a father. Now he has the opportunity to make up for all the missed years as a parent, and perhaps have a future that he never expected.The first time Trevor and Julie were together, they were young and not thinking about the consequences of their actions but are now much older and responsible. I could totally understand the reasoning behind her previous decisions, as the author makes things clear as to what she went through before becoming a mother. Their reactions to each other are spot-on when they meet up again, especially when he learns about being a dad. So many emotions are battling within him, as he is stunned yet in awe this is happening. Both Trevor and Julie have responded well when obligations compelled them to act responsibly, and I certainly admired them for being so dedicated to others.There are plenty of scenes in the story with a medical theme to make the book interesting, and I really enjoyed how each episode was so realistic. But it is Trevor and Julie’s relationship that I will long remember because of the sincerity in how countless honest feelings are expressed. These two really have much to work out if they are ever going to have more than a working relationship. While some of their conversations are filled with teasing banter at times, many more of their discussions are profoundly earnest. Then there are the moments where passion takes over, and these instances are beautifully depicted. Lynne Marshall has written a story where the reader is constantly immersed in every single detail involving her appealing romantic couple. By Judy Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Dad by Lynne Marshall is the part one of a two part series featuring the Montgomery brothers of Wyoming. I love themes centered around second chances and this is one of those books that I thoroughly enjoyed from the outset.Trevor Montgomery could have had a lucrative practice but instead he chose to be a Family Practitioner in his hometown. He lived with his father and helped maintain his family’s ranch.Julie Sterling returned with her son to her hometown after losing her parents. Her son needed guidance after getting into some trouble so she sent him to a military school not too far from her home. She needed a job so she applied for a Nurse Practitioner position at the local clinic. Trevor Montgomery offered her the job as his nurse and right hand person.Thirteen years earlier she and Trevor had a one night stand that resulted in her son. She’s kept Trevor’s son a secret all of these years. Once hired, Julie decides to come clean and share her secret with Trevor.Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Baby is one of those books that tears at your heart strings. I could feel both Trevor’s and Julie’s emotions when she shared her secret. The first time Trevor laid eyes on his son was also filled with emotion. I loved how Trevor put family first when dealing with his father and getting to know his son. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop along with his instant love for his son. I also liked seeing how he dealt with his father’s illness.This was an extremely fast read as I read it in one sitting. I highly recommend reading Hot-Shot Doc, Secret Baby along with the second book in the series, Father for her Newborn Baby. I’d like to disclose that I received and advance copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Steckling HOT-SHOT DOC, SECRET DAD by author Lynne MarshallJulie Sterling lost her virginity as a teen and that produced a baby son. She loved her son however her parents could not forgive her for bringing shame to their family and they bought her a one way ticket out of the city. Her aunt helped her and Julie went on to become a Nurse. She lost her parents and they had left her their home. She came back to Cattleman Bluff Wyoming and hoping it would be a place to bring up her son, James who is now 12 and has gotten into some troubles. She places him in a nearby military school which she hopes will help him get more help. He never had a male figure in his life and she feels this will help.She goes to apply at the clinic and finds that Trevor Montgomery is the Doctor who has she would be working with. Trevor who happens to be James father and does not know he exists.Trevor does hire Julie and after that she tells Trevor about his son. It does not prevent her from the job and she becomes an asset to the medical clinic.Trevor gets to meet his son and develop a relationship with him. You will just have to read to find out what happens to Julie, Trevor and James. You will not be disappointed.Lynne Marshall writes a very wonderful medical but love story and you must read it and the accompanying story Father for Her Newborn Baby. The books complement each other wonderfully.
