Son Brother Lover The love of Drew Walker’s life left to pursue her dream. He told her to go, forced her to go, knowing that a stripper’s daughter would never be able to escape her mother’s past. In the wake of her leaving, she left him with a broken heart. A heart that he’s held very close to himself for the last ten years. Daughter Friend Attorney Charity Thomas has worked hard to get out from under the stigma of being the daughter of Jasmine from Wet Wanda’s. Ten years away from home gave her the distance to grow a backbone; it also gave her enough time to miss the hell out of Drew. When Meredith Blackfoot entices her back to Bowling Green to deal with a situation at CRISIS, none of them realize the danger they are in. Home invasions, a woman and daughter running for their lives, and an attempt on Charity’s life puts Heaven Hill on alert like they’ve never been before. When the smoke clears, the bad guys are caught, and Charity is ultimately in Drew’s arms, they can all breathe a sigh of relief. In their hour of need, Charity is finally home.

Home Free (Heaven Hill #8)By: Laramie Briscoe3/5 starsCharity grew up as the stripper’s daughter and thus, was always looked down upon in not only high school, but their entire town. There was no way for her to live that down when everyone wanted to hold it against her and throw it in her face. In order to make something of herself, she had to leave town, go to college and make a successful life. It broke her heart leaving Drew, her high school sweetheart, at home, but it was at his insistence that she left Kentucky to go to college. She became an attorney in North Carolina and has been working ever since.Drew became a member of the Heaven Hill Motorcycle Club and a mechanic so that he could work at his dad’s/the club’s auto shop, Walker’s Wheels. It broke his heart and left him devastated, but he knew that it was best for Charity to leave and go make something of herself that way she could rise above just being the stripper’s daughter. It was hard for him to do it, but he would do anything for Charity that was in her best interest. But when Charity got the call from Meredith Blackfoot to come home because she was needed, Charity came home immediately. She opened her own practice and her best friend Mandy, also Drew’s twin sister, who is a paralegal, came to work for her. Charity is helping Meredith with pro-bono legal work at the women’s shelter, CRISIS. Of course, Drew finds out when he stops by to drop off for Mandy. When Drew & Charity see each other, it’s like no time has passed and they strike up a conversation and set up a time to get together.Charity & Drew have a couple disagreements, but nothing else will get in their way. There is some drama with the CRISIS center that involves several of the club members, Charity & Mandy and some of the clients at CRISIS. But other than that, the club doesn’t play much of a role. While this book was well-written, it just missed the mark. It fell flat. We didn’t learn about much of anything that happened or went on during the 10 years that Charity was gone. I think that it would have worked out better to see some of those years, so that we got a sense of how sad they were instead of just being told about it. Also, there were no discussions between Drew and Charity about what happened, how they changed and grew and how they stayed the same. There was none of that; they just jumped back into the deep end. They had 2 stupid little arguments that were ridiculous and felt like forced conflict. Also, the club didn’t play any real role in this book, just some small protection work and detective work. I was really looking forward to this book, but it fell flat. I am intrigued by Mandy’s book, and hopefully there will be more to it than just 10 years of missed feelings & no real tension to the book.

By SEB Drew and Charity have come a long way from the teens they were in earlier books and from the time Drew set Charity free to fly on her own and achieve more than what her life had allowed her to be at that turbulent time with her stripper mother. When trouble at CRISIS calls her back home to help with a difficult case that becomes more of a personal mission instead, she reunites with that boy now turned into an even more gorgeous man, and together she and Drew take down an insidious enemy while rekindling what they had given up.I really admire this author's ability to draw us in and make us care for her characters...the long Heaven Hill history and family sagas keep on showing how much these people care for each other and I especially appeciated how maturely Charity and Drew behaved (even when Charity was being humiliated by a club whore and Drew was forced to hear the truth of what Charity had gone through as a teen). Wonderful and romantic sequel with some exciting action.I am looking forward to Mandy and Dalton's story now (that man needed a swift kick in the butt!) and the small cliffie we were left with is the start of some more major drama for the couple.I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.**** 4 **** "coming home and still being free" stars

Drew and Charity started out with a very pure love that developed over several books By maranda I have read every book in this series as soon as they were released. This is not a book that you can pick up without reading the rest of the series first as the characters in this book develop over time. Drew and Charity started out with a very pure love that developed over several books. Drew let Charity go so she could pursue her dreams and be known for something other than being the daughter of a stripper. Ten years later she comes back and they pick up exactly where they left off. They both knew they were meant to be together. There was no real drama in this book involving their time apart. Overall I found it a great read that had enough suspense to keep it interesting. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt that it ended a little abruptly. While there were no loose ends and it definitely was not a cliff hanger I felt that the wrap up could have been more involved. Laramie, as always, did an excellent job prepping the next book. I began to get excited for Mandy and Dalton's story at the beginning of this this book!
