By Christina Kurtz An excellent book to buy and gift to someone you know who has an addiction. The first step in helping someone with any addiction is not enabling but having him/her acknowledge they have a problem without verbally telling them. This book allows them to see what the future may be like if they get help and if they don't get help, from through the eyes of a former addict - not from someone who does not understand. Unlike other books, it offers the help they need and can provide them the opportunity to make him/her look at their own life and reach out to make a change and how to do it. This is a real eye opener book and one that everyone should read. Just about everyone knows someone who has some kind of addiction or to help prevent someone from getting started with an addiction, buy two or more books. One to read and keep to offer for support, and one for every addict or preventive addict you know to help them change. And to point out, it is great for someone such as teenagers or college students to read to know what addictions can do and why to never get started. It is not to say they have an addiction but merely an eye opening experience to allow individuals to make their own choices in life.
