It's full of honesty, on Riley's part, regarding the abuse in her past and her fears for the future. Jalen, though regarded by Riley as a superhero on more than one occasion, is a very realistic character.Together, Riley and Jalen prove that God is the God of the exchange. He takes our ashes and gives us beauty, our sorrow and gives joy, our morning and gives us dancing. What a beautiful story! I laughed, I cried and mostly I was overjoyed because I have known these characters for a while now (check out the rest of the Pacific Shores series, every single book is great).Lynnette writes in a direct way that takes you right to the heart of some of life's most difficult issues, and demonstrates time and time again that God's love always prevails. Every story is romantic, but so much more than romance, her stories point to God's unfailing love. If you're looking for a great romance with spiritual undertones (and some overtones), look no further, Written in the Sand is for you!

Jalen has shown great patience and Riley has come far but still thinks she must remain single as to not steal joy from any man.When Jalen returns to town to coach the soccer team, Riley enjoys spending time with him but still has to keep herself from falling for him. Trials come her way and Jalen is there for her every time, but she's got issues.I have really loved this whole series and think Lynnette Bonner has done a phenomenal job on it. Very romantic. Very heartwarming. Very emotional. You can't go wrong reading Written in the Sand or the previous three books in the series. Great stories of God's love for His children.

It deals with some hard issues--ones that I could relate to. At the same time, it is sweet, has some great humor, and is uplifting. Lynnette knows how to write stories that will bring you back time and again.
