So many things in our lives form barriers that keep us from truly knowing God and experiencing Christ - this book takes a sledge hammer to those walls, and allows us to learn how to experience true refuge and freedom in Christ. Beth Kinder is relatable, raw, and authentic in her storytelling, and wise and purposeful in her instruction. You don't want to miss this!
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A must read. By DoodlesMommy03 I have had the honor or getting to preview this book. I can tell you honestly that it hit such a nerve with me. As women of God we are made to feel like shelf models of perfection according to the worlds standards. I have always been quick to be down on myself about not being a good enough mom, wife, sister, friend, daughter and person in general. The shame and alienation of not being all the things I think I should be (by measuring myself once again by what the world demands of Christians and not what God demands) drove a wall of shame between me and the one I love the most, the Lord. This book shook me to my core by putting someone else's story of humanity and imperfection out there. It made me see it is ok to have issues and not be out of the box perfect. It realigned my sights on what I needed to be looking at and get past my shame.Beth did an amazing job sharing her story, and I am so thankful she did.So, if you are feeling you need to draw closer to the Lord, or you are just in the mood for a good read, I beg you to please give his book a chance. I pray it brings a blessing to your soul and an understanding to your life. I know it did mine. God bless.

Lately everyone I would pick up felt like it was saying the same thing as the one before and lacked a certain depth and sincerity that I was looking for. When I began reading Stronghold, after the first few pages, I knew this book was different. There are no "filler" paragraphs or cheesy anecdotes. Every line is laid out with intension and the book takes you through a journey of personal stories, testimonies, life changing revelation, and countless invitations for personal reflection and communion with the Lord. Stronghold reveals scripture in a new and fresh way, why staying true to the context and spirit in which it was written. I am confident this book will be a blessing to all who read it! It will be a catalyst for spiritual growth, renewed faith, and FREEDOM in Christ. I know it will be a favorite in my house for years to come.
