She and Jason have been married for forty years and raised four children. They know firsthand what it means to get a second chance with each other, and with God. “Isn’t it beautiful when the Lord brings about a beautiful redemption, reconciliation, and restoration?” Mary worked in Christian education for eighteen years. She loves Youth Theater and has written and directed over twenty full-stage productions. She and Jason live in the country near Blanchard, Idaho, with two silly dogs. Besides writing, Mary enjoys meeting her kids for coffee, reading, crocheting, and hiking in the woods.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful Love Story By Dixie Judy Book 3, Summer's Dream, of the Second Chance series by Mary Hanks, is another great read. A touching and beautifully written story of Joshua and Summer Day. It begins with the couple not long married but struggling, his drinking and womanizing, leaving her alone at nights, finally leaving her.....Then forward five years. Summer was pregnant when Joshua left but had not told him, so he does not know he is a father. He has changed his life and become a new christian and wants to marry another and start over anew. He has served her with divorce papers. He arrives back home to make sure that she signs them and .....everything is the same but different......Not only does he have to face Summer and his unknown daughter, but his uncle and aunt whom he also wronged by stealing his "treasured" truck the night he left........this is a story of lasting love, forgiveness, reconciliation, God given ability to forgive although it is hard. Mary Hanks is a great writer and you will not regret getting her books. A touching and poignant love story is Summer's Dream. I was honored to read and review this for Mary.

Summer's Dream By Paula McGrew In Summer's Dream, the third installment of her Second Chance series, Mary Hanks invites us into the lives of Summer and Josh Hart, and their daughter, Shua. Rich on multiple levels, their inspiring story weaves God's forgiveness with redemption and reconciliation to produce a beautiful tapestry of lives rebuilt, love renewed and trust restored. For those who walk away from His love, mercy and grace, this is everything God is about -- offering us a second chance. Reading Mary's book is worth your time; once you start, you will be pulled into the story. You won't be disappointed, and you won't want to put it down. I commend Mary on a storytelling job well done.

Joshua and Summer's story will tug at your heart strings and you will find yourself so involved in these characters lives that you will be crying tears of pain and joy. I even found myself praying for them! Their daughter, Shua will also capture your heart. It was also wonderful seeing Winter and Ty as well as April and Chad from the previous books included in this story. This story of forgiveness, reconciliation and true love will lift up your heart and make it soar :) There is tender romance, country music, an adorable little girl.... Highly recommend! I received this book free for an honest review.
