1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful book! By Shannon Harvey I cannot express enough how helpful Kristi Hay's book has been to me. I lost my baby son over 9 years ago. At that time I read every book I could find on grieving the loss of your baby. I wish I had her book back then. Kristi's book transports me back to my own experience allowing me to still feel connected to my son that I lost 9 years ago. Her writing is a blessing to me for that very reason. She writes so honestly and beautifully. I believe her book will help many people. Her writing feels very personal and her fierce love for her son Aidan is evident. I am so thankful that she wrote this book because there is no loss as suffocating as the loss of a child. Kristi covers every aspect of life that is touched by the loss of your baby. Your work life, your home life, your daily life. Reading about her journey strengthens me. I loved her book.

With extraordinary vulnerability Kristi Hay has shared the horror of child loss. I wept through the first third of the book as she described her and her families torment at the unexpected death of a longed-for second child. Her discussion of the possible family consequences of a child's death and the steps that can be taken toward healing the deep anguish of loss were beautifully illustrated with references to her families journey from despair to acceptance.It is the family perspective paralleling a Mother's grief that for me gives this book both its power and its usefulness. It has given me a deeper understanding of my own Mother's profound loss and the subsequent effects on our family.This is an invaluable book for anyone in a family that has suffered the death of a child.
