By Amazon Customer For a relatively short and quite accessible book the scope of the sociological and theological analysis of our current state as the church as well as the extensive biblical grounds for an engagement with a subversive posture and practice as followers of Jesus is quite expansive. I found this book to be a very helpful consolidation of the topic that did not lose the "good stuff" in the process.I would suggest reading this before diving into Ellul or Tolstoy. Though much broader in potential appeal and application I would place this on every would be Christian anarchist's reading list. This is a helpful 'corrective' for any sincere follower of Jesus who suspects they may be bogged down in Western cultural values and assumptions.
