You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to pour yourself another drink… #1 in Amazon Humor and #1 in Bartending! From champagne bottles to baby bottles, this memoirette offers a humorous look at an American mom's decade in Paris. Party girl Vicki moved to the City of Light hoping to drink her fill of wine and fall in love. She accomplished her goal, but not without bumps along the way: romantic encounters gone awry, uniquely French situations threatening her sanity, and two adorable yet energetic kids keeping her on her toes. This memoirette takes you on a journey of the ups and downs of Vicki's life abroad. And each story is paired with a delicious cocktail recipe! You'll enjoy drinks like the Sangria Spritzer, Pretty Good Bloody Mary, and Teeny Bellini. Fans of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, and Chelsea Handler will enjoy the humor and candor in this memoirette. A funny memoir about life in Paris, this collection of humorous essays shows the funny side of life, love, and raising a family in the City of Light.
Interview with the Author
What was your inspiration to write the Confessions series? After a few too many drinks, I either turn to storytelling or karaoke. I'm much better at storytelling—or so my friends say! They encouraged me to put my tales to paper, and thus was born my series of memoirs, essentially a collection of funny true stories. OK, so they're technically memoirs. But they seem different than traditional memoirs. How would you categorize them? Most bestselling memoirs are written by celebrities, who already have a huge audience. I had to choose a different angle in order to stand out, so I went for humor. I hope people enjoy my funny short stories, which have been compared to chick lit except they're true! I also talk about my travels, so my books would appeal to anyone who likes travel humor and travel memoirs by women. Confessions of a Paris Party Girl is a funny coming of age memoir, while Confessions of a Paris Potty Trainer falls under parenting humor or pregnancy humor. Yikes, those are practically spoilers! Sorry! Between my French last name and my author bio, I think the cat might already be out of the bag. However, even if you have a rough idea of how it all ends, you have no idea how rough it was getting there until you read my books! Aren't there already so many memoirs, and ones about Paris in particular? Why should I choose yours? It's true, there are some really great Paris memoirs. The fact that I have read (and enjoyed!) so many bestselling memoirs myself makes me think it's a popular genre for a reason. We're always thirsty for another sip of Paris, to travel to Paris through the pages of a book, to fall in love with Paris again! In what order should I read the books? Each book can stand alone, but like fine wine and cheese they go great together! I recommend: - Petite Confessions: A Humorous Memoirette with Sassy Drink Recipes - Confessions of a Paris Party Girl: A Humorous Travel Memoir - Confessions of a Paris Potty Trainer: A Humorous Parenting Memoir - Christmas Confessions & Cocktails: A Humorous Holiday Memoir with Sassy Drink Recipes - Confessions & Cocktails: A Humorous Memoirette with Sassy Drink Recipes If you enjoy funny true stories, and want to see the crazy things that happened to this American girl in Paris, you'll enjoy the Confessions series!Categories

In her three minutes of spare time per week, she writes, sips bubbly, and prepares for the impending zombie apocalypse. She lives in Paris with her French husband, rambunctious son, and charming daughter, all of whom mercifully don't laugh when she says "au revoir." Hilarious look at expat life in Paris By wordsandpeace VERDICT: Hilarious look at the adventures of a real American girl in real Paris, not the one you encounter in movies. Treat yourself with this short book and of course a glass of good French wine. This short book presents 17 vignettes in which Vicki shares “a few of her less-than-proud moments”, “times [she] slipped up, tripped up, and flipped out on [her] journey to establish a new life in Paris.”It’s about wine – she had to get to Paris to finally taste “delicious wine that didn’t need to be mixed”…. with Fanta (yuck!!, say my tasting buds born in Burgundy, France), it’s also about food (adventures at restaurants “with an attitude” — oh yes we do have plenty of those, to McDonald’s or MacDo as the French say).It is also about dancing and dating (French men of course), followed by pregnancy and all its ordeals. There are lots of funny scenes on daily life and on what you must be ready to face to learn French and apply for a visa and its renewal – really hard work!I enjoy Vicki’s funny style that debunks all the romantic clichés we often have on Paris and the French. The one thing that bugged me was the title. I think Vicki’s “mission” could be to help Americans grab some basics of French grammar, lol, and why not put an s at the end of this adjective, especially as she describes indeed her Confessions as petiteS in the introduction to the book.Right now (at the time of this review) this book is free. Once you have devoured it, you will definitely want to read her two other similarly hilarious books, especially as you will find the first pages of the first book included at the end of this one.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. funny and entertaining By Brenda Smith Petite Confessions by Vicki Lesage is quirky, funny and entertaining! I loved viewing life in Paris through the author’s “American” eyes.I enjoyed Lesage’s dry sense of humor. Her short quirky vignettes about the challenges and adjustments of settling into her new life in Paris will keep you smiling page after page. I think my favorite snapshots of her life were 10 Ways Living in Paris is Like Dental Work and My Business Is None Of Your Business—laugh out loud funny. All I can say is I’m glad it was her and not me!If you’re looking for a smile and a chuckle you’ll enjoy this quick, humorous read.

By Anne Canaveera The Petites confessions is a collection of blog posts and articles Vicky wrote along the way and depicts her experience as an American girl in Paris. The tone is very humorous and as usual she is very honest. Sometimes a bit too much when she confesses how much she has drank or how she accidentally may have eaten someone else's finger (yep, true!).With only 60 pages, this book is a bit like an appetiser. You would like to read Confessions of a Paris Party girl or Confessions of a Paris Potty trainer but you're not sure if you'll enjoy Vicky's style or even her stories? Like me, you are allergic to Paris and you need some insight to finally appreciate what the city of lights has to offer ? Maybe you are thinking of moving to Paris and you don't know if it's a good idea... Or maybe you just need a god laugh. So, whatever your reasons are, you should give it a try!
