Super Little Doughnut Book By Laura Grill I do love doughnuts and have eaten them from here to Florida, California, Canada and Virginia so I've tasted my fair share of the good, bad and awful...wouldn't have thought of making them myself until I saw this amazing little book. Making doughnuts has always seemed much too time-consuming and difficult. I made the basic recipe with the basic glaze and they came out exactly as pictured and tasted absolutely, fantastically, wonderfully delicious, similar to "Krispy Kreme", actually better. Directions are straight-forward, perfectly understandable and doable in an ordinary, home kitchen. Without expensive equipment, not even a donut cutter, the recipe came out exactly as described and really did not take too much time.

By klc59 I recently got into baking as I have been trying to do more things at home and one of my favorite foods (before I stopped eating out as much) were doughnuts from our local shop! They always had such crazy flavors and so I was looking for a cookbook which would offer lots of different recipes and this book did not disappoint!The pictures included with each recipe are beautiful (and so enticing!) and the author’s writing style is very clear and direct - easy to understand! I have other books by Gordon Rock and have always been pleased with his cookbooks.I am looking forward to trying out things like the Doughnut Cake and Strawberry Lemonade Doughnuts - both should be big hits at upcoming summer events!
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. So perfect. By T. Johnson I have never encountered such a comprehensive list of baked donut recipes. My nephew now INSISTS that I make him the chocolate mint donuts every time I see his face. I also have a love for blood orange and have never seen it included in a donut recipe, so obviously this is the first one I've tried. Of course, it was delicious, just like the rest. The recipes are so creative and fun, I can feel my waistline growing from just the sheer excitement of THINKING about making the French toast donuts with maple glaze. The flavor combinations all work so well together. I would recommend this book to any donut lover, but ESPECIALLY the ones who like to get creative. It’s perfect.
