About the Author LINDA CADDICK grew up in Zimbabwe, spending most of her time confined at boarding school but holidays wandering freely on her father's farm, where she developed a lively imagination and a love for nature. Strongly attracted to Cape Town, South Africa, she went to live there at the first opportunity. Her writing skills were developed during many years of producing descriptive editorial for a restaurant publication. After almost 20 years of city life, her dream of living in the country was realized when she and her husband, together with their two small children, bought a run-down caravan park in the Cape winelands and turned it into a popular resort for church and family outings. By Regis Rene Robert Rosset It was with some apprehension that I started Woman of Mettle, the sequel to Woman of Clay. Was there really more of a story here? As much as I enjoyed the first book, it seemed to me that all that remained was living happily ever after. Once again the author proved me wrong and I found myself gripped in a whirlwind story-line and suspense-filled chapters! A definite maturity in writing is apparent as the author seems to have settled into an identity and unique style as a writer. Nail-biting cliff hangers and shocking outcomes leave you guessing at every page as you once again embark on a journey of adventure with Shana, this time getting caught up in the persecution of the early church. A thoroughly absorbing read that can be enjoyed with or without the first book.

A soul-filled read By fiona A sequel to Woman of Clay – another compelling read by the author of Woman of Clay, Linda Caddick.A truly riveting story, the reader becomes part of the ‘adventure’, feeling every emotion and physical anguish of the characters in this book. Another exceptionally well written narrative with skilfully selected prose.The author is passionate about her writing and it is evident in the way she creates great characters, great plots and great action. She is fast becoming a writer worthy of recognition.Linda captivates her readers enticing them to continue non-stop to the very last page. You won’t be able to put it down.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Two great books/ One outstanding story By Amazon Customer This was every woman's story. The times change, customs, but the real battles are the same. Woman belong in a secondary position but we are raised, even more today, to stand alone. This Woman of Mettle novel stripped me down to raw nerve and in the process helped me come to terms with the dichotomy of a woman's life. I was not proud of what I saw, I am humbled that the author understood my pain. A voyage of discovery and faith in two books.
