This book introduces us to the world of Aryam, its people, cultures, and rich history. The writing is tight and passionate, but also thoughtful and in places even lyrical.This author and this series is now on my favorites shelf.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Dangerous! By Mary A I did enjoy this book! It was a gift from a friend, and arrived right before a business trip. This turned out to be dangerous. I was completely engrossed in the story during a layover in Dallas, as suddenly I heard my name being called over the speaker system. My plane was ready to depart without me! I managed to board the plane, by the skin of my teeth, the very last passenger on! I had been living in the fantasy world created by Mr. Taylor, oblivious to the real one around me. I lost my chance for a window seat with the "A" boarding pass I possessed, but never minded, as I finished the book very contentedly in the one seat left on the plane - a middle one.Looking forward to Book 2, but might be more careful where I read it....

It is a beautiful allegory about a heroine's spiritual journey as she becomes aware of a gifting that is far more portent than she would have ever imagined. A gifting that will catapult her into her destiny and into the arms of a man she weeks before would never have seen herself with. It was easy to get into and from there I couldn't put it down…I had my iPad in one hand and my three month old crooked in my other arm. Can't wait for the second one to come out!If you like fantasy, C.S. Lewis or "The Shack" you will like this book. I would love to see all these beautiful creatures and scenery in a movie!
