The book you are holding in your hands is perhaps the simplest, most straightforward summary and how-to guide for presuppositional apologetics now in print. It is both informative and practically helpful. I believe you will fi nd it an extremely useful tool whether you are an professor at the seminary level seeking supplemental reading material or just a simple lay person looking for practical answers. Pastor McManis writes with crisp clarity in a way that is certain to give you fresh insight into what Scripture teaches about the defense of the Christian faith. I wish this book had been available when I was studying apologetics in seminary."" John MacArthur, Pastor-Teacher, Grace Community Church; President of The Masters College and Seminary Cliff has rescued the discipline from the elite circle of the intelligentsia and returned it as a biblical theology of truth communication to the common people (i.e. to all believers). This volume will be of great help in the restoration of the practicality of biblical apologetics as it was exemplified in the early Church. Hopefully, todays readers will be able to understand and put into practice the true nature of Peters command in 1 Peter 3:15 as it is strategically situated in its defi ning context. George J. Zemek, Academic Dean, The Expositors Seminary, Jupiter, Florida.

Needed Biblical Apologetics By Scott Varney Dr. McManis has brought apologetics to a more truly Biblical perspective than what is typically found in circulation and in the seminaries. Having read some of the more highly touted apologetics books in my seminary class, I have to say this one stands out due to its faithfulness to the Scriptures. It is a must read for Seminary students as well as those who want a good biblical insight to the world of apologetics and what it should be Biblically. I also believe that it is a much easier read than what you'll find out there because it is written for the Biblical edification of all Christians and not just the brainiacs!.

Proving that Sola Scriptura, the battle cry of the reformers applies even in the area of apologetics. He masterfully proves Charles Spurgeon's theory that " The Bible is like a lion. You don't have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and it will defend itself." In his book that is exactly what Dr. McManis does time and time again. The reader is left with a renewed joy, and admiration, and total awe, at the complete sufficiency of the Word of God.This book was so refreshing to my soul. It was like a cup of cold water in a dry and thirsty land. I felt as if the chains of the intellectualist were unlocked and dropped in a heap at my feet. Left there, never more to entangle! I also found myself with a renewed joy and desire to witness, that was born out of a sense of freedom that came from the knowledge that I gained through reading this book.I truly thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the gift that He has blessed Dr. McManis with. This book will bless and benefit everyone who reads it, from the seminary student, down to someone like myself who just loves the Lord immensely and is jealous for his Word.Thank you so much Dr. McManis!Carole Rezentes
4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. a large and simple apologetic book By CAM Book Reviews In 1 Samuel is the story of David, the small shepherd boy who killed Goliath, the massive giant of Gath. The drama of that a small lad killing a huge giant is filled with many spiritual lessons, lessons most have heard in countless sermons. but with this book, we see the massive killing the small. This massive apologetic book slays the small view of atheism and unbelief. it may over load the reader and it appears to bring a tank to a sword fight, but that makes sense since truth looms so large in human experience and easily defeats the diminutive power of falsehood.this book is huge, too big for paperback and seems to be self-published?another difficulty is the author tries to push fideism using a lot of pages to do this - he says he is a healthy fideist in apologetics. and a few strong criticisms of greg bahnsen, cornelius vantil and johs frame that may be right and a couple others that are way out of line in my opinion.but it is endorsed by John Macarthur and has some presuppositional leanings. It may be the largest semi-presup paperback out there, so there's lots of OK stuff in this book, but it's not a lofty level apologetic book. Nothing new here except a type of fideism, just some basic presup ideas viewed thru fideism and aimed at students and non-apologists.chapters are on1. Tradition2. apologia3. myth of natural theology4. truth God's wrecking ball5. philosophy; the love of big wordsand a few others.endorsed by george zemek and john macarthur. i'd like to see what frame thinks and those influenced by bahnsen since Mcmanis without some areas of thoughtful comprehension criticized them.other apologetic books you may try: Always Ready: Directions for Defending the FaithTruth, Knowledge and the Reason for God: The Defense of the Rational Assurance of Christianity
