About the Author Barry Leggett came to God at the age of 15 under tragic circumstances. He looks back now after 40+ years of living for God and writes with deep emotion washed in humor. He says about growing up poor "I guess it's true, I just never realized it". He looks back now with a greater realization of the verse "Now are we the sons of God". Barry and his wife Cheryl make their home in Illinois and they both understand and live by the principal of "THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT WE SPEAK OF, THINGS UNSPOKEN WE FORGET".

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. God Has Scripture Nuggets to Teach Us How to Live and Has Revealed Them to Us. By Starflower I really like this book, and I will visit it to read again and again. It uses Scripture to apply principles for growing spiritually in an interesting manner. The author envisions in more depth what some of the Bible characters were like based on the terse description supplied in the text. This character development is interesting in itself, plus there is the bonus that the lives of the characters illustrate wisdom for our current day spiritual lives. The chapter describing the father-in-law assisting his son-in-law is worth the whole book if nothing else was read. I rated the book No. 4, because I think that the goal to reveal secrets is not as clear as it could be. I understood the pattern that was building with each chapter at first, but then it seemed to go in some different directions. However, many truths are uncovered that help one in spiritual growth, particularly in the area of faith, the area of how much our heavenly Father wants us to be close to Him, and He wants us to fulfill the destiny prepared for us. I hope that Barry Leggett keeps writing.

I realized that I have actually used that as an excuse. This book brings to the surface, some things that we'd rather not have brought to the surface. Which brings me to the conclusion that this is partly what this book is about. I can be humble and receive Gods gifts at the same time!

Is it not the knowledge that God knows who we are and that He smiles when He thinks of us? In his book, “What Does God Like About You?”, Barry Leggett, with a pervasive spirit of humility, reminds us of who we are - children of God, and what tremendous opportunities are available to us because of that relationship we have with the Father. Barry's writing style mixes both entertaining, fictional illustrations as well as tremendous truth from the Scriptures that, combined together, help the reader not only see what he is saying, but actually feel the sincerity with which he is saying it. The concepts are as old as the Word of God itself, but the presentation of the concepts is fresh. This book came into my life at just the right time and truly ministered to me. I highly recommend it to both the new believer as well as the seasoned saint. You will be made better by reading it.
