David is a prostitute who lands a well-paid job living on board a luxury yacht with Li Qin, the son of a Chinese Billionaire. Li is an attractive man but rather cold and distant at times. David is both intrigued by his client and a little attracted to him. He grows curious as to what lies beneath Li’s aloofness, and why such a man would need to hire a prostitute in the first place. In doing so he soon discovers that the yacht has more than one secret on board.

I saw a lot of potential in this; it's better than so much out there in the m/m romance genre despite the room for polish/improvement. It could use expatiating and further development of the story and characters, but as it stands is still well worth the read.I don't recall if the description says this (I really don't think it did at the time I purchased) but definite TRIGGER WARNING for mental health issues and self-harm, very graphic. People need to be better about warning those things because if you're in a sensitive place there's nothing worse than thinking you're just reading a nice romance book and suddenly bam your literally dangerous personal issues are shoved in your face.

I'm no grammar nazi but it was so distracting that I struggled to finish the story, despite it being only 72 pages long. Positives- the culture was really well researched and the style was engaging. Although I felt bad for the character of Li, he's really quite a brat. Understandable, considering his upbringing up it didn't make him any more likeable.

I do love the escort-turned-lover theme, and this was a good representation of it. I couldn’t really identify with Li, but I liked David well enough. The writing style wasn’t particularly for me, and I felt that it was a little too predictable.Seeing Li develop, though, while being with someone who cared about him, was enjoyable.
