A Great Book that Makes it Nice and Clear By D Roberts We have been thing about turning our children’s theatre program to a non-profit, but it all seems so overwhelming and when you start looking at getting help, you realize a whole new level of overwhelmed. There is also a large investment and a finical obligation that still requires you know as much as you can and I don’t think I would have had as clear an idea, had I not read, Things You Need To Know About Non-profits. The author lays it all out real clear and with all the right questions and directions that help you decide if this is the best direction for your organization or group. The chapter on funding is an eye-opener. Some great information and guidance with disclosure requirements and the section on frequent errors from past applicants and submissions to the IRS is wonderful. We have a nice strong direction after this great book.

With so many nitty gritty details in tax laws, doing something like starting a non profit may seem impossible. In this book, Carleton Booker helps you understand it. The book is very detailed, but still very easy to understand. I also really liked how the author provided external links that you can click through from your kindle to find reference sources. The headings were accessible; nice and clear for easy reference as well. If you're looking to start a non-profit but have no idea where to start, then this is a good book to start familiarizing yourself with all the concepts!

Very helpful By PL Filing for tax exempt status can be incredibly daunting, but the author explains the tax aspects of starting a nonprofit in succinct, easy-to-understand language. The book starts with the basics (what is a nonprofit) and then moves onto the more involved info. The FAQ section answered a lot of questions I had. The book is formatted well with lots of bold, underlining, and easily digestible sections. For me, formatting is a big issue for readability when the topic is dense. Recommended for anyone who plans to start a nonprofit.
