Must-try diet menu By Melanie Jane The book explains that a ketogenic diet harnesses the power of high-fat, low-carb eating to rev up your metabolism to help lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. I have always been on the look out for low carb recipes and I found the menu plan here organized into breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snacks. I have done a set of recipes for each as my menu plan for the day and my family loved it! Am looking forward to try out the rest,

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. very good to start your Ketogenic Diet By Jess Lee I agree that the further research of this topic is needed to achieve success on this diet and not to make mistakes, but for the start this book is good. It gives the main principles of this diet, explains how it works, what you can eat and what to avoid. Also there many interesting recipes, that will help you to start your Ketogenic diet, I found them very good and will also add many of them to my diet.

Good book for beginners By Kfagundy Good book for beginners, though i don't like that it recommends (or even suggests) artificial sweeteners since they are known to cause insulin spikes (and thus more sugar cravings) just like sugar. People who are serious about the keto diet will need to do a lot more research, such as what are appropriate sweeteners, what veggies have high sugar/carb content (i.e. beets are a suggested veggie in the book, but they are very high in sugar and should be eaten sparingly), and portion control (contrary to what's said in the book, calories do matter, somewhat. One will not lose weight if they consume 3lbs of bacon, 10lbs of veggies and caesar salad dressing everyday at every meal.) All this aside, there are some really good beginner recipies that aren't too drastic a change for the Keto beginner.
