Rule of reporting 101-- don't bang your subject. Sophie Hall has just gotten the opportunity of a lifetime--to profile Nathan Ryder, the hottest baseball player since A-Rod, for her first solo assignment as a reporter. Rumor has it Nathan is going to be drafted to the Major league, and yet he still fits an intense training regime around volunteering at a animal shelter. He's a prodigy with a heart of gold, as American as apple pie and has an ass that deserves a trophy all its own. He may be the country's heartthrob, but Sophie isn't going to fall for that. She just has to remain objective and cover the story. But she didn't bet on Nathan's gorgeous green eyes or the way his arms flex with muscle when he's holding a bat. And she certainly didn't think he'd be witty and smart and caring. Nathan is completely untouchable, but she can't help it if those lingering gazes turn into something more. How could she not fall at the thought of the hottest guy she's ever met devoting his limited free time to saving kittens? When Sophie's scoop turns into Nathan's scandal, Nathan needs her more than ever. With both of their careers on the line will they strike out - or hit a home run?

Review "If you like.... The Hook Up and The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan, The Rusk University series by Cora Carmack" you'll love this book!"The fun comes from the cute building of romance in this well written, light-hearted story that had me giggle-snorting out loud quite a few times. " 5 Stars from Book-Bosomed blog on Goodreads.com I love books full of innuendos and internal dialogue and this book provided those LOL moments!! Makes me want to go watch baseball practice in the future!! Amazing debut Katie McCoy!! 5 stars from Monica on Goodreads.com "The banter between Nathan and Sophie is hot and flirtatious" 5 stars from Mollien on Goodreads.com "Nathan was a total sweetheart that had me swooning really quickly. I liked that he wasn't some egotistical jock that Sophie "changes" as soon as they meet. Neither lost themselves when they met the other. Sophie easily won me over as well and I loved watching her character develop. There is some great sexual tension between these two which makes reading this book so great (and so much fun!). Despite everything happening in a matter of days, I really saw why these two would work and that sold me on their romance. Overall: a great sports romance story. The Book Disciple on Goodreads.com

By DeannaReads **I received an ARC in an exchange for an honest review**I didn’t know what I expected from Game On, so to say that I was blown away was an understatement. From the first page, I found myself adoring and liking Sophie Hall.Game On was funny, hilarious, and from the moment we were introduced to Nathan Ryder—this book was swoon-worthy in all the right places.Every little interaction between Nathan and Sophie had me grinning and giggling like an idiot. Jesus, these two were so… EVERYTHING. They were witty, funny, charming, clever, and hot together. I was rooting for them since the first moment they met.Oh Nathan. From the very second we were introduced to him, I liked him already. He’s funny, he’s sweet, he’s guarded and he was hot. He sounded so perfect that I’m upset he wasn’t a real person. This book was so enjoyable that I found myself flipping through the pages and eating it all up like brain candy. I’m so upset it had to end! (Nathan and Sophie were so adorable!) Oh my God, I want more.Katie McCoy, you’ve found yourself a fan!

Unfortunately, the characters in Game On seemed two-dimensional as opposed to the fleshed out characters in Play Me. (Read that instead)I won't bother with the plot specifics since that can be read in most of the reviews. However, it bothered me as everyone seemed to live in this small bubble. It read like a play with one set (a baseball stadium) and only five characters, none of whom are really interesting or realistic. But that I could ignore. However, the ending is what prompted me to write a review so spoiler ahead.....Spoiler:As with many books, an easy to explain misunderstanding if the H would just LISTEN for two seconds to the h drives the plot at the near end. Due to this misunderstand, he is tearing her apart and decides to accuse her of using sex to get a juicy newspaper article out of him.Ahem. Ladies and gents, the H just accused the h of being a prostitute, with a newspaper article being the currency of choice. Yes, that just happened. Let's have that sink in a minute while I get my bat.... And does H specifically apologize for this assumption/accusation???? Oh no! But come on... He does write a note. It says he is sorry. The h immediately goes to him. They immediately move in together. He soon (as in months) offers to fund her college education and she accepts. My. Mind. Is. Blown. So the moral of the story is its okay for a guy to accuse you of prostituting yourself for your career.... Just as long as he ends up paying for your college degree. End rant.

By KB I am an avid sports romance reader and, when I saw this as a suggested book due to my recent purchases, I had to check it out! I just finished it and, I have to say, Game On was a fantastic and sweet debut novel by Katie McCoy. I was thoroughly impressed with how well-written and engaging this book was. It was funny, sexy, and a beautiful love story all in one package.I really liked the character of Sophie Hall, an ambitious, young journalist who wants to prove to her coworkers that she can do more than just fetch coffee and make copies. She doesn't have a college degree because she couldn't afford it but that doesn't stop her from pursuing her dreams of being a fantastic journalist. She is sent to Austin, Texas from her hometown of Houston to interview Nathan Ryder, a star college baseball player who is set to enter the MLB draft after graduation. Sophie is having a horrible day because her boyfriend breaks up with her, she is being evicted from her apartment, and her suitcase breaks in the lobby of the fancy hotel where she is staying. Despite all of that, she does her best to stay positive. Sophie is funny and quick-witted and I could picture her as one of my friends. She meets Nathan in a popular bar, unbeknownst to him, and once he finds out who she is, he feels like she played him. Nathan is very leery of journalists and prefers not to talk about his personal life. After they finally are on friendly terms, they start to like each other and have fun together. Of course there is some drama between the two along with one of Sophie's coworkers, but that just seems to make everything sweeter in the end.Sophie and Nathan also quote lines from the movie Titanic which is pretty amusing. While in Austin, Sophie makes some new friends and her life changes after meeting Nathan,I really enjoyed Game On and thought Katie McCoy did a great job writing this debut novel! If you enjoy sports romances, be sure to check this one out! I tore through it pretty quickly and would love to read more by this author. I highly recommend it!
